Default Stupid question - ZUNE

Um... i know this is weird and the wrong place to post about this but its the only place i know a group of people that will anwser me quickly and honestly.

I own 3 zunes 30 gb zune players in my house hold
Ones mine my daughters and my brothers "for people who are going to ask why you have 3"

My daughter asked me to fix her zune it was stuck at the load screen and i could not remember how to hard restart it "or just wasn't sure" so i brought my zune out to test the restart method on it sence i knew mine was working.... or so i thought. i pushed the button and it started the load screen and its stuck too so i'm like WTF , i had my brother check his zune too and its stuck at the ******* load screen ............. Anyone else have a zune ? lol or by some act of god all 3 of mine are stuck at the load screen.

I have a feeling its something to do with the firmware and the date because they all worked fine before 11:59...

haha it must be an act of god, do you have the most recent firmware? My girlfriends 2GB seems to be acting ok.

Turn it on until it gets to the point where it's stuck and try holding the button with the left arrow on it and "up" on the control pad for like 10 seconds, that should soft reset it.

If that doesn't work, you could try re-loading the newest zune software/firmware. That is if your computer will even recognize it.

Well that's odd because I came into work this morning and my Zune is doing same thing. It's stuck at the load screen and will not restart at all. I can't even power it down.

Don't have one, but working in IT I get a lot of questions from our users.
Here are the instructions. Hope it helps.

WARNING: A hard reset will delete everything on your Zune.

1 Press and hold the back button

2 Press and hold up until it reboots

3Depending on which Zune you have, immediately do one of the following:

1 If you have a Zune 4 GB, Zune 8BG, or Zune 80GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time as you press the right side of the Zune pad and the Play/Pause button. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message: “Clearing contents. Please wait.”

2 If you have a Zune 30GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time that you press the right side of the Zune pad and the center of the Zune pad. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message: “Clearing contents. Please wait.”

wow..if you hard-reset the zune, it wipes the memory? I was really contemplating whether to buy an IPod or Zune; I chose the IPod and I'm glad I did so now as a hard-reset on the IPod does not wipe the memory.

read an article in the paper today. you have to let the battery lose its charge completely then reset it after charging it or something.

Fixed itself yesterday, just let it die and plug it in... I would expect the next firmware update to include a patch for this. :-) Still love my Zune.
