2007 Monte SS Questions
2007 Monte SS Questions Hey guys..My Moms is got a 07 Monte SS that is white with the silver stripes. My question is..Were these stripes installed at the factory or were they installed at the dealer? Also, how rare is this car? I've looked all over the web and havent been able to find another white/silver striped SS!! I've always been an LS-1 guy but I'm tryin to gather up some info on her car..Thanks for your input

IIRC the stripes were an option so I'd imagine they came from the factory, but could be wrong.. Not sure how rare they are, but I've never seen any in that color combo myself. Then again, I rarely see any MCSS's in general.

no the stripes were a factory option#17A. I'm looking at the bill of sale and I was charged $475 for the stripes. Which i took off a month after owing it.So if your car came from the factory with stripes it will say on the build sticker in the trunk

just cuz they're on the build sheet, doesn't mean they were put on at the factory... they will still charge you for them from the factory order, but when your car is shipped, the stickers are put inside the car. When the dealer gets the car, they take the stickers out and put them on the car.
again, just like with the camaro and the vettes... the low ground effects kits, stripes, short-throw shifters, etc etc etc are all dealer-installed items... they ship with the car from the factory, but the dealer is the one who actually installs all that stuff and puts them on.

they are "factory" options/items... but they are "dealer installed", not factory installed... the factory doesn't put 'em on.. the dealer does it when they get the car.
