Default Rotor question and if so anyone need a good used backup set of rotors

Can our factory rotors be cut? I felt like putting on a fresh set with some Hawk HP Ceramic pads and got a new set of front rotors. They are in great shape (pics if needed). If they can be cut and someone wants them, let me know and we will figure something out plus shipping. They were on my car for about a year and are not burnt.

Yes they can be cut. Mine have been cut twice by the dealer under warranty.

yep.. same here...

and my service advisor gave me a bit of news... GM is starting to enforce something new now...

from now on, they will only cover the rotors being cut ONCE, within the first 12,000 miles, and only for the original owner of the vehicle.

so, if you're over 12,000 miles, they will not cover it... and if you buy a used car, you're SOL cuz you're not the original owner...

Mine have not been cut yet so if anyone wants this set instead of buying new pm me. Remember mine are GXP drilled rotors so that's why I was asking if they could be cut.

call a different dealership. We cut rotors all the time within factory warranty. We are only restricted by GM for pad replacements, and thats up to 24k miles. Even still, the service manager can override that if he wants to and "goodwill" it. GM will still pay.

Why cut? $290 for ceramics and zinc cross-drilled and slotted rotors from Jim@Brakemotive. I have been very happy with mine.

Are those prices for GXP brakes or impala ss brakes? The GXP brakes are bigger and similar to the C5 Z06 brakes.

Well if anyone needs pics you can have mine for $100 plus shipping and depending on what price to cut these if they can be you will have a good set for around $200 I believe.
