2 questions on my 08 GXP
2 questions on my 08 GXP HI everyone. I just got my 08 last month. love the car. 2 questions though?
1) How do I get the XM channels to show up on the HUD. The owner's manaul say it will show radios station info including XM, but I can't seem to get them too.
2) When I test drove the MCSS it showed when it was in 4 banger mode, does the GXP not show this???

not sure about the HUD and XM...
but I know the GXP does NOT show you the 4/8 cyl. mode like our Monte's/Impala's do... you got the HUD instead LOL

i have an 06 GXP and mine shows everything on the HUD. the radio stations, xm stations, and CD tracks will only show up when you change them though, not all the time. try changing the stations and watch the HUD

Verdad Gallardo I have tried that. The MPH shrinks like it wants to show the XM station but it doesn't show it. I can see the FM and AM stations fine, the blinkers, the outside temp, which gear when in manual mode, but just not the XM station. it shows XM1 and XM2 but thats as far as I can get???

The 08 GXPs lost that feature for XM only. FM and AM works fine. I opened a case with GM over it and was totally blown off. I even called Bob Lutz's office and made no progress. Yes the owners manual says the HUD displays the XM stations but it does not and GM is terribly sorry for their error. Yah right!!!

So what controls this? If I put in a radio out of an 06-07 will that work? any one try this. I am wanting to and the fac nav anyways so if anyone has info on that or best place to get one let me know. I have read most of the treads on it so far.

The heads-up in my '07 shows the xm channel, but you're really not missing much. All it shows is the channel for like 2 seconds. You still have to look down and press info (on the nav unit anyway) to get any other information. It's pretty sucky of GM to not include this in the '08. I'm interested to know if it's the head unit or the car wiring.
