Yes, but you will need to cut it and use a 3" i.d piece of pipe to slip over the cat inlet and collector. If your going to use a clamp then make sure you leave enough material on the inlet to clamp onto. you can get the piece of pipe from parts store unless you wand stainless steel, which I recommend.

So David do you think the clamp would work this type from Magnaflow from the down pipe to the cat

also what size of band clamp

Smear some of that permatex or similar exhaust sealant around it before clamping to make sure it doesn't leak.

I believe anything more than a ported LS6 would flow WAY too much for our engines.

I disagree with that. If u get a bigger cam and some nice heads I think it would work very well. Guys put them on the 5.3 truck engines. I'm sure you might lose some bottom end but would gain a lot of top end. I would rather have a little more top end over bottom.

We dont have the gearing for more top end power so we need to focus on low to mid range power. Especially with a 4spd (2spd considering 2nd shifts into 3rd around 98-100mph!)

No. that is at the down tube where the cat would go. I had an exhaust shop weld the flange from behind the cat to a straight pipe with an o2 bung. I clamped it in. Now I hear a hissing noise simmilar to a supercharger whine. I cant find any leaks so I assume that the tube has to be welded.

We have excellent heads already. If you slap a big cam and a FAST on there I feel like the powerband would be moved so far up that the bottom end couldn't handle spinning that high, assuming you want to take full advantage of the powerband. On a larger motor, yes. I feel like ours would benefit more from a LS6 intake and a baby cam.

I agree that a fast isn't going to be worth much over an LS6 however, a decent size cam is going to be better than the baby cam. You can make the same bottom end as the baby cam but boost the topend greatly.

That can't be going through any mufflers. That is LOUD. Sounds great but I know I'd be pulled over at every stop sign around here. I am putting mine through the stock cat-back with no resonator. For now...
