Yes, the stock is around 1750-1850 I believe. I've had some cool discussions with Dave at Triple Edge Performance. I plan to see how 1500 works as a daily driver around town. Should be real nice. The higher stall isn't too necessary with the supercharger. If I decide to go turbo I will go high.

I wish I could help with the various questions on Page 6 but I've been so busy at the office I cannot get out to Thorley's shop (which closes at 4 PM here) to do any observing. I'm all for the increases down low; maybe that'll help the driveabilty!
ALSO, with regard to the gains-- the car's tune was not monkeyed with at all; it was run using the same tune I had in it when I gave the car to Thorley. About two weeks before I gave the car to Nick I took 4 degrees of timing out of it as I was picking up some KR I didn't like. So, there might be a little improvement left in it.

wow so even our simple bolt on mod became hard....not only that but it started out 550$ not its 650$ plus welding and a pina install. Plus its not really a lot of gains in hp, if you look up in the higher rpm range he only gains like 10hp
also most of the gains are where the stall is so we really will only see increases down very low.....

FYI, LS engines usually see about 20 whp from headers and the gains are exponential as rpms increase.

If you are going through the trouble of putting on headers, minor cutting and rewelding a flange should not be a huge issue. If you want true bolt on / easy-to-intall HP, get a 75 HP N20 kit and call it a day! Have you installed headers on an LS1 GTO? That's a PITA as well; better if you have a lift, as you have to undo part of the suspension. Also, $550 was an ESTIMATE; we are looking at a difference of 18%, not a bad deal when you consider the work that went into it. Also, I am told the production sets will be bent on a robotic machine; all the stuff you see will be taken off and scanned in 3-D.
Let's get this straight: your GXP is not a race car: it's cam is small, DOD is intrusive, etc....basically, we have a jewel of a motor being held hostage in a WrongWD chassis. Have you looked at our cam specs and the lift numbers? Likely not. Also, the tune was not changed "before" or "after" header install, plus I had taken timing out of the vehicle (I think it's at 26, if memory serves), as mentioned in my previous post.
To other readers, sorry for the rant. I offered up my vehicle only after 1cleanSS (the other local owner) unfortunately had to back out, and I have been juggling my marketing schedule as my Impala is the car I use to see my clients.

I just realized this part of your post. Why so defensive? Not everyone is going to be a believer. I thought that there would be higher gains also. Are you planning on puttin her on the dyno after you get tuned for 'post' headers?
