I have to say, I'm very proud of how the LS4 kept up with the guy. from 60 to about 110 it stays even with it. the handling aspect is a different story. anyone else have any experience against them?

Not to flame the original poster, but my modded 11.80 '87 Grand National only slowly walked away from an IS-F from a roll all the way to about 120, and my GN would crush a near-stock LS4 at those speeds. From a dig, it's much a different story, as my GN sent an IS-F home with it's tail between it's legs.

And what do you mean "thats a lot of shifting"...........thats the whole point, to keep the engine near peak hp at all times, believe it or not it makes the car faster.

ha, you're dreaming. Not saying it didn't happen....once or maybe twice but I would shoot myself if my car ran even close to a 9.16 in the 1/8.

guys, I know what an IS-F looks like. it was an IS-F. and I didn't say I beat the guy, I said I was proud of how the LS4 kept up. I'm telling you, side by side, from 60 to about 110, all in second gear, it was pretty much dead even. he probably had it in full automatic or something. we weren't running from rolls with horn honks or any of that stuff, just dipping a bit, if you will.
I'm not down on the IS-F at all either, because I love that car. just saying what I encountered today.

you know it is possible he wasnt in it or maybe the car wasnt running right. Its also possible it just wasnt the right gear or maybe the driver didnt know what they were doing. I have raced a c6 vette before and pulled HARD on him. And we all know my car is no where near as fast as a vette and that was even before all my mods. So who knows.
