Default had a run in with an IS-F today

I have to say, I'm very proud of how the LS4 kept up with the guy. from 60 to about 110 it stays even with it. the handling aspect is a different story. anyone else have any experience against them?

Really? Idk about this cause the IS-F have a 5.0 v8 with 416 hp. It is heavier at 3780lbs but has better weight to power ratio then our cars. What mods do you have?

8 speed auto with 2.93's. I am guessing we don't match that... I wonder if he ran a is-350...

That's a lot of shifting. If Our boy was in his powerband in 2nd the whole time, chances are he kept up. If he had to shift into 3rd the story might have ended differently.

Not to flame the original poster, but my modded 11.80 '87 Grand National only slowly walked away from an IS-F from a roll all the way to about 120, and my GN would crush a near-stock LS4 at those speeds. From a dig, it's much a different story, as my GN sent an IS-F home with it's tail between it's legs.

I'm dead ***** even with a stock LS1 from a 60 roll. I don't see keeping up with an ISf, no offense. The new IS looks a lot like the ISF

ha, you're dreaming. Not saying it didn't happen....once or maybe twice but I would shoot myself if my car ran even close to a 9.16 in the 1/8.

And what do you mean "thats a lot of shifting"...........thats the whole point, to keep the engine near peak hp at all times, believe it or not it makes the car faster.

guys, I know what an IS-F looks like. it was an IS-F. and I didn't say I beat the guy, I said I was proud of how the LS4 kept up. I'm telling you, side by side, from 60 to about 110, all in second gear, it was pretty much dead even. he probably had it in full automatic or something. we weren't running from rolls with horn honks or any of that stuff, just dipping a bit, if you will.

I'm not down on the IS-F at all either, because I love that car. just saying what I encountered today.

you know it is possible he wasnt in it or maybe the car wasnt running right. Its also possible it just wasnt the right gear or maybe the driver didnt know what they were doing. I have raced a c6 vette before and pulled HARD on him. And we all know my car is no where near as fast as a vette and that was even before all my mods. So who knows.

I agree with this 100%. Guessing he had it in tap shift mode and didn't down shift all the way. I had a CTS-V drop it into 4th at 70 and pulled nothing on me. We then went again at the same speed and he put it into third and that was a whole different story. I just say he needed the driver mod and gj on the race.

Not surprising...The IS-250 has a 204 HP boat anchor for a motor in a car that weighs only slightly less than yours. I would hope that you'd crush him.

They're much faster than a 14 sec car. Hell C&D got one into the high 12's.
