Impala SS vs Charger r/t
Impala SS vs Charger r/t. Self explainatory. Which one is faster? Which one would you get? I get alot of flack from my friends about me buying the Impala because of it being FWD. But as far as performance, its apples to apples. I raced a Charger r/t and beat it by a car length. So im asking all my fellow LS brothers out there, what do you think is a better car?

I've always wondered about this matchup as well. My buddies little brother won a Charger R/T in a raffle a couple years ago (true story) and he's been wanting to run me for a while now.

Stock for stock they're obviously pretty much even. I think it comes down to what you really want to do with the vehicle(and obviously which cars styling you prefer too). If you were getting serious with performance you'd be hard pressed to opt against a RWD car with a much larger aftermarket. Not that the LS4 cars aren't capable of some good numbers as we've seen, especially with that turbo kit on there. Taking out the FWD vs. RWD thing the main thing the Charger has going for it is that it's probably cheaper to mod. I wasn't looking to mod when I had my SS, I just wanted a DD that was quick out of the box and the SS served me well.

The Chargers have a better aftermarket, and pretty much a better platform to mod.
But I've beaten a couple Charger R/T's at the track, and pulled a Challenger R/T pretty bad on the highway.

i'll have to admit the charger does look better than the impala by far but i mean with 303 hp and 323 lbs of torque, it matches against the charger pretty well. i went on the charger forum and it had a few people talking down on the impala as if its a bad car. honestly if you launch pretty well, you got the race won. but i have to give the charger its props its a bad *** looking car

How can you say the Charger looks better? It's your opinion though...
In my opinion this one looks best
I've had guys that drive Chargers and Magnums agree with me.

The charger looks better than the impala. it looks mean and aggressive while the impala looks laid back and happy. everytime i look at my impala it looks like its smiling at me lol. the grand prix looks better than both of them though hands down

Now the 1968 and 1969 Charger RTs, that's another story. If Chrysler had only done a better job at the retro look to capture the essence of those.

I've always been a fan of muscle cars. Impalas, chargers, challengers, camaros, mustangs, dusters, 'cudas, corvettes, i mean the list goes on and on. I picked the impala because its been my favorite car. It was down to a charger daytona r/t and the impala ss and chose the impala because its my favorite car of all time even though it looks rather bland outside, the inside doesnt compare to the charger (even though i wish it had come with a Navi). True the charger doesnt have the retro aspect of the past. i was upset they made it to a four door but with the r/ts, daytona r/ts, and lets not forget the srt8s, they did a pretty good job with it. they sound pretty good as well
