Default Shift Kit Owners, chime in.

I see the W body Store and Transgo, along with another I saw on Ebay. Is the trango worth it for the extra money? Any information would be nice. I know there aren't a ton of people with them but it's something I'm seriously looking into.

Give me a week and i can have your answer, as the cars in the shop. From what the guy told me thats working on my car, you might as well do everything that you want done to your tranny at once rather then pay multiple times to have it rebuilt.

Yeah, a shift kit is easy though, just drop the pan. If I were to get into the internals it'd all be done at once.

I have a TransGo and love it. Really nice, fast shifts. You won't be dissapointed.

I have no doubt they make a quality product, it just looks like the only difference in that kit and Wbody's is that the transgo includes that spring. Then W body store's has the filter with it too.

The TransGo spring is harder than the factory one and it also comes with spacers too. I used just the spacers before and there was just a negligible difference over stock. That e-bay kit really deosn't describe what it comes with except a hardened boost valve. I think the boost valve is on the side of the valve body in which you need to take the side cover off to get to. With the shift kit all you do is drop the trans. pan and take the accumulator out and replace everything. It's pretty easy. Def. a good mod.

Dave has always been really good about answering my questions, but I'm 19 working a min wage jog 30 hours a week and I found it cheaper on ebay.

At 19 I had a 71 SS454 Monte Carlo that came factory with 425hp. Which of coarse I modded, replaced the 9:1 pistons with 13:1 & a Edelbrock water/alcohol injection so I could run it on pump premium. I wish I could have that one back.

I had your engine! Mine had flat tops, valvetrain, tiny cam. I never got traction in that 3rd gen.

Quit being a sissy and spray your car Travis.

On topic: I had my car done by Mike at Atco in Montgomery, full custom job. Better than any "off the shelf" kit. That was 4 years/50,000 miles ago, and the car is still going strong.
