Tinted Reverse Bar

Tinted Reverse Bar
I e-mailed flip over a week ago about tinting my rev and Tails on my GXP. He did not get back to me so I decided to tint my Rev bar myself. I used Rust-Oleum Lens Tint instead of VHT because this is all my local autozone had. Here are the steps I took to complete the tinting...
1. Wetsand the Rev bar and spray on the tint. I used two coats.
2. After it dries, lightly wetsand and apply a few coats of any kind of auto clear. Remember to wetsand in between clear coats.
3. Wetsand the final coat, but do not go too far or you will sand though the clear.
4. Reinstall, and remember to buff the lights. I used PlasticX. Also remember to give it a good buff so it will be nice and shiny.
5. Finally use any kind of auto wax to really give it a good shine. I ended up putting two coats of wax on.
The ending result was pretty good IMO! Tint cost $11, and the clear cost $9. Best $20 I ever spent lol....Tell me what you think ....BTW don't mind the dirty car, it has been raining here the last few days.

I might give my tails a go. Shouldn't be too difficult on the Monte.
I got a message back from Flip and I know he does good work but it's a little expensive when I could probably get the same results and save a few bucks.

DP.. Yours looks good on your car. Black looks better on my car IMO. You had Flip do yours right? IDK y he didnt get back to me yet. I sent him an email almost two weeks ago If he ever gets back to me I might have him do my tails.

Def give it a try. It wasnt too hard. If you want tails for the MC I have black LED's in the classifieds. I am really trying to get rid of them lol I am also willing to negotiate on price, but they were only used for 1 month.

Yeah I saw those LED's but from pictures I've seen on the the net they don't really fit too good on the new Montes.
Flip told me $100 to tint the 2 tails, 2 reverse lights, and the 3rd brake light. Plus shipping. Plus I would have to buy 2 new tails to ship to him, so that is getting pretty expensive.
Might be different for you if he has some GP tails on him already

you may have to hit him up a few times to let you know you are interested..he is usually pretty busy with bein a teacher and doin paint work on the side for people...the tips are what comes with the Magnaflow system...they are flush when you look down to the bumper and stick out a little bit when you look from the side because of the curve of the bumper.

You do not have to buy new tails to ship to flip. I think he charges you a core charge. Meaning he has a set of tails at his shop, so when he gets yours in the mail, he will paypal you back your core. As for the LED's, I heard that they might fit on the 06+ MC's, but don't take my word for it. But they look the same to me.
The tails on the 06 and 07 Montes don't "bulge" like the older models. The tails are basicly flush with the trunk.

the tail lights are supposedly interchangeable. ive seen the 06-07s on a 2000-2005 but never the other way around. i personally like the older lights better.
