the only thing that ovechkin has that is all around is that he hits. thats not what superstars do, and thats why alot of people arent a fan of him, because he puts pucks in the net, and puts people through the boards.
Crosby may be a pretty boy, but he is one of the most "team oriented" players in the NHL. meaning as far as passing, and not caring about records or goals. Last week, he got his 50th goal of the season awarded to him and made the ref's re-look at it so show that Guerin acctually tipped it in.
but this convo is apples to oranges. and both players have their great attributes
...The only players I think would care about records are goaltenders. Take Patrick Roy for example: He had such a big ego that he was kind of an *******. When Montreal pulled him in 1995, he even said that he would never play in Montreal again. Why? because he didn't care about the team, he just cared about himself. If you take Crosby out of Pit and put him on the Oilers for example, he wouldn't be ****. The team around him makes him look good. Not saying that this is a bad thing though! Ovechkin at least made the Caps who they are. They built their team around him. But I would love to see them face in the playoffs
