Default Light on Cutout Remote

For those who have the QTP electric cutout, is this light supposed to stay on?? Is there a way to turn it off? I just got my cutout installed today, I will post vids sometime this week.

No it doesnt actually. I've left it like that over night and itll still be on in the morning. So i know the battery will last a few times of doing that since i've forgotten to unplug it a few times.

With the LED indicator light switch, it should be wired to a switched circuit, meaning a circuit that is on when ignition switch is on and off when ignition switch is off. I am betting that it was wired to the aux power socket (cigarette lighter socket) that is hot, or on, all the time. I wired mine to the aux power socket, but I made my own cable harness and switch with no LED light, so I have no electrical drain from a LED light. If your cut out operates with the ignition off, then it is wired to a circuit that is hot all the time. You can have it rewired or change switches to a non LED DPDT,centering, center off, switch. Got mine at Radio Shack. I have a Monte so I put my switch at very front of console in the back of the depressed pocket . Easy to use, almost impossible to see.

I don't drive my car that often and sometimes sits 3-4 days at a time. My cutout light is on all the time with no problems with my battery.

Is there anyone that has had the cutout on throught the winter? I want one, but i am afraid that the salt will corrode and screw up the cut out. i would hate to spend all of that money and then have the darn thing "freeze up".
