Easiest and cheapest way to make your car faster is not to add power, but to lose weight. It's easy to figure out that if 2 cars make the same power, the lighter one will be quicker. (Never race with a passenger, it'll slow you down) Use your imagination and remove as much weight as you can, your time slips will improve. Also, everyone likes the look of big wheels and tires, but shorter then stock tires will effectively lower your final gear ratio (larger #). For racing, find smaller (lighter) wheels and shorter wide tires.

Synthetic oils. Pump your rear tires to max pressure and lower your front tires to 28-30psi. Race with 1/8 of a tank of gas, and remove all unnecessary weight. (floor mats, CD binder, shoes and crap from your trunk. Pull out your headlight and pop your hood open while sitting in the staging lanes to allow your engine to cool down. Get some computer duster (aerosol can) and spray your maf housing down before closing your hood to cool off your IAT sensor which will reduce timing being pulled from your engine at WOT, from heat soak. Also try to have your lights off and all other electrical equipment off in order to keep the load off of your alt.

Just picked up the catless DP. I was gonna try to put it on before tomorrow's cruise, but I don't see it happening.
It's pretty much just 4 bolts, right? I figured I could just run it up on ramps and swap it out.

Do not use a 12 point 15mm socket for the nuts. Use a 6 point 15mm to get 'em off. I came close to stripping mine with a 12 point. They'd be a bitch to get out if they got stripped.

I was lucking when i did mine since i was replace the whole exhaust system. The bolts that connected the dp to the catback were rusted so bad i didn't even bother trying to get them off. I just unbolted the dp from the manifold and then droped the exhaust as one peice and draged the whole system out.
