Cam will be a custom grind by Patrick G, or VHP's Boss highlift cam

I was considering going with him in the past buh kinda went a different direction . And to go his route would we have to have a personal tuner? Or do we just pay and let him do the work as far as specs for the LS4?

Tuning is required with any cam if you really want to reach its full potential.
HP tuners, or get a Predator/Trinity and go thru Lew.

Cam
When I was looking into cams I was constantly being told about the need to upgrade my TC. Have you found this to be tune? Plan on heading to a 1/8 mile track this Sunday with no tune or N20. Running reg tires and right now my shift between 2/3 is around 78mph so I'm thinking my times won't be great, but it will be a start.

My trans shifts from 2nd to 3rd at 96 mph
Without tuning, you are going to leave pissed off. 1/8th mile is all about hard core 60ft times. Go for fun or don't go
You will want a converter that stalls 1200 rpm below peak tq. Stock.. we peak out at 4400. So a 3200 stall would be ideal. I have no idea of knowing where your at till you get dyno tuned.
If you plan on sparying the a lot of juice, then you'll want to get a special converter with a anti ballooning plate.
I talked with Roger, and have seen a couple of 5.3 dyno runs with your cam, and the tq numbers were pretty flat so the stock stall should work pretty good with your gears. We will know more once you get some numbers.
You have a lot of room to grow with that cam. I bet it pulls to 6500 with ease. Anything past 5800 and your intake manifold, MAF and tubing might start to become a serious restriction. You have a great nitrious cam BTW

I should of included in my last post that I followed the advice of others when I did my TEP transmission and went with the 3.29s and the upgraded TC (which by the way caused my trans temp to jump 15 degrees). I definitely agree with you, I will most likely be disappointed at the track this Sunday. I don't think these cars will impress or surprise anyone on a 1/8 track. My plan is to work on my 60' so when I do get to a 1/4 I won't embarass myself and maybe even lift some eyebrows.
But I do have to say that I really enjoy driving this car, this motor can really scream
Perhaps this Sunday will motivate me to finish this car.

No.. worries. The car gets up to that speed pretty quickly now. Its just slow to rev and shift because of the stuipid gearing.

Cam has been Spec'd by Patrick G!
I just contacted EPS, so I can place my order. Patrick G predicts a 40hp gain over the stocker with a LS6 intake, headers, 10.1CR with full exhaust.
Stay tuned...

this sounds like great news!!! I cant wait to see you results with a Pat G specd cam. He does amazing work and the ramps on his cams are not abusive to the valvetrain on your car. IMHO, this is the better way to go, you get a long lasting valvetrain with the monster hp gains from a properly specd cam.

Can I borrow your new trans?
It's really the only way for me to feel good about this build.
He took in all my info.
It's pretty mild looking. Less then 50* overlap with lots of lift
