Charging system failure

Driving slowly through the parking lot the other day and charge system failure pops up on the DIC. I pull off to the side and check the gauges and all is good. The engine fan was on but the a/c was off. Hasn't been on since and I check the DIC and everything looks good. Just a fluke or should I get ready for battery/alternator.

Went to get mine checked and they said it was dead, had bought that one in 07, and they misunderstood the warranty end date for the purchase date. 11/09 haha i of course didnt argue haha got a free battery.
Dewd87 you sure everything is off? key out of ignition and car locked to make sure lights inside are off? that might be what it is.

It is supposed to cut the accessories power off when the car is off so the battery won't die.
It is probably the battery, but could be onstar or something else draining after the key is off.

I had everything checked and everything was okay so I am thinking it was just a little spike when the fan turned on or something. I haven't had any issue's since but will keep a close watch on it.
