I'm not having any issues, just wanted to toss in my 2 cents.
We've been randomly getting 2-6 inches here with the most on the ground at one time being 9 inches.
I had to get new tires right before Christmas. I had goodyear supercar F1s and they last about a month and a half (no, no burnouts, just daily driving) and I got Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinums. They're no performance tire but the price was right and they're made for more daily driving than racing.
Anyways, I just wanted to say because I was worried how this car would do in snow that I'm extremely impressed. I made the move from a 4x4 truck and now that I have new tires, this car is great in the snow.
I even accidentally dropped the car off in the yard, with about 6 inches of snow, and it had no problems at all.
And i realize it isn't a lot of snow, but that's why I kept the truck

 

Im glad things are working out for you. I have the F1 tires on mine also and its horrible. My Blizzaks should be here today and I cant wait (we got 2 feet of snow this weekend) I traded my Hummer H3 on this car and Im thinking I might have made a mistake. Im gonna look into those Kuhmo tires in the spring. Im glad you posted about those tires I was looking for a good tire that wont break the bank.

 

Well 2 feet would be extreme for this thing. We had 6 inches one night and work has me on the road before the plows typically. The only problem I have was when my car was being used as a snow plow through some of the drifts, I made it, but it did get a little hairy.
The F1s are just WAY too soft. I literally only drove the car, not very hard and no burnouts, and the tires lasted about 6500 miles.
These Kuhmos were cheap but they are made for regular passenger cars. I'll keep you updated on them but so far they are doing great, good in both rain and snow.

 

My GXP sucks in snow. Mind you, I only have "all season" tires, which are pretty useless in snow. Can get stuck in only 4" of snow because of poor traction.

I have 4 Blizzaks on the Subie, traction is awesome in deep or packed snow.

 

My tires are all season and they've been outstanding. Keep in mind there are some tires labeled at "all season" that are far from it.

True, I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They're supposed to be pretty good, experience says they're really only three season tires in my climate.

 

I felt like I was on ice skates with the stockers in winter. I contacted talked to some people from Bridgestone, and the rubber in the stockers gets excessively hard below 40 deg. F!

I run 225/55R17 Dunlop Graspics on all four corners in the winter, and the car is planted. My Goodyear Eagle A/S tires actually aren't too bad, but nothing beats snow tires in snow or on ice.

I don't race on the street, but there are places where the road narrows from 2 lanes into 1 lane right after the stop light. I haven't been beat out of the hole or passed by a hot shot in an un-modded 4WD pickup yet, even in the worst snows. For the record, every once in a while I am that guy in the second lane, but I hate that guy in the second lane.

 

I JUST put the Pilot Sport A/S Plus's on my GXP and love them. I live in Michigan with well a lot of snow lol.

 

Tires make all the difference in the world.

On the stock RSA's and my later Sumitomo HTR-ZII's, my Impala was barely drivable even in light snow or on plowed roads.

With my Continental Conti Pro Contacts all-season tires, the car is very sure-footed and stable.

 

But we have the cold. I think that's what makes the difference.

 

I have those same tires (the Kumho that is) on my GTP and for the amount I snow I see they do just fine. We ususally get no more than 2 or 3 inches and that only maybe once or twice a year. And while not a summer only tire they do great in dry and wet weather as well.

My GXP is ready for new tires and I was going to replace with the Kumho or the Continental Extreme Contact DWS here in the next month, just haven't decided

 

Yeah I bought DP 08 GXP's old tires this thing rocks in the snow. I drive it over my truck actually just cause it stops and gets going so easy. Drifts would be the only advantage of my truck really.

 

Yeah,I agree the stockers on my Monte Suck big time, (RSA's) We only had a couple of inches here last week and I am suprised I made it home, I actually slid right past my driveway!!!! ABS a clammering and carrying on... Time to break out the 2500HD 4x4 since tomorrw they are calling for 5"..

 

Got my Blizzaks installed on the GXP yesterday. This is a totally different car now. Im impressed with the traction it has now. Just in time, we are supposed to be getting hammered with another foot of snow tonight.

 

I bought dedicated snow setup this year.

17" Monte SS Supercharged wheels with 225/55/17s and it is so much better than the stock tires. But they were not that bad at all. I think with the GXP the 255s up front are just too big for the snow and cause you to "float" rather than sink in the snow.

 

I got dedicated snows tires last year and will never look back. I got Firestone Winterforce tires and they are great. We got a few inches of snow today and the Trac light only came on once, other than that hooks up like im on regular pavement.

 

you know what man i just put some bridgestone 960 a/s on my car and they kick *** granted their pretty much brand new but they are handling better than my good year f1 a/s did in the snow when they were new... the tires feel like im drving on dry in the rain as well... and i drive in CLEVELAND lol...

 

I got blizzak ws70s on the ta this year and they are great ill drive it over the gtp any day
