400whp out of a 5.3L....

Why do we need forged internals and a custom crank for an N/A build? I mean, the weight saving will help but I think money would be better spend elsewhere. Roughly 464 BHP. So FAST 102, a 24x/24x cam, MAST heads, Spin it to 7300 or so with a 3500 converter. Even if it did hit the numbers, Why? It'd be such a high strung motor it wouldn't be any fun to drive. You'd have to turn the timing way down or run race gas because compression would need to be ridiculous. I Just don't see the reasoning.

Have you done full bolt-ons yet? Because stock it's not immediately clear what a terrible platform this is. The amount of money you will spend on modifications to reach your mark you could buy a H/C/I/I F-body...

+1 on this.... You can look at the classified sections in this forum and find cars for sale that would be right around the same amount that you would spend to mod your car.... I have been researching both avenues and have came to the conclusion that it would be better if I find a cheap f-body and try to mod it, rather than try to mod my monte. There are f-bodies out there that are in the 8-10k range that will run in the mid to low 12's.

There is no replacement for displacement. Well boost, but that would make it F/I.

It said in one of the pics that the block cost $12000 or something like that....That particular build most have cost the man a fortune!!!! I sometimes wonder if a person had more money than sense to build something like that! LOL! I applaud the guy for doing it, but if it were my money I would be spending it on something else!
