Default resinator removal

any disadvantages of removing the exhaust resonator? Id like the exhaust to be a touch louder, but dont have the money for a catback at the moment. Thanks!

It's definitely an improvement.

They'll replace it with a straight section of pipe.

It cost me ~$40 ~3 years ago.

was gonna have this done to my monte ss, and i was told that it may **** up your exhaust back pressure and you might actually LOSE power. very raspy sound, untill the car warms up and it kindaa goes away. just throw on 2 flowmaster mufflers in my opinion if your just looking for the sound. i wonder how it would sound with no res, and after market mufflers? hmmm

It won't effect back pressure. You would be fine.

I run open exhaust, with no 'back pressure,' and my car's faster with the cutout open.

Cool thats what I plan to do is leave the stock mufflers on but remove the resonator. That is with DT headers and an Hi flow cat.
