I have DOD disabled and a heavy right foot so it is possible to get better gas mileage with my car. I just started this job a month ago and before that I hardly ever drove on the highway, so that's why I have DOD disabled. I might turn it back on and see if my mileage increases. My avg mpg has increased from 15 to 17 since I've been traveling on the highway to work, so I might be able to get it up to around 20 mpg if I do that.

To me Muscle cars are RWD and have 2 doors with big engines, cool decals and functional hood scoops.
I'll go to bat for the Monte carlo guy's and say that the SS has always been Chevrolet's muscle car.
The G8, 4 door LS4's, CTS-V, and sunch are considered sports sedans, which is pretty much a name adopted from the european automotive world.
And the Corvette is not a muscle car it's a sports car!

The new CTS-V also comes in a coupe now, so your theory about a CTS-V not being a muscle car is flawed. The G8 basically has the same motor as the GTO (6.0 V8) so if the GTO is a muscle car then so is the G8. Just because it has 4 doors doesn't mean a high powered RWD sedan isn't a muscle car.

Back then they had the impalas with 4 doors that were SS's as well. In that one link the OP provided earlier, impala was a full-sized muscle car (SS trim only) but I do believe however you must have RWD. Can't drift in these LS4 cars

Chill out.. There isn't just ONE definition. It can be loosely translated.
There goes any 4 door.
Redhot you have no authority to make any decision on what is or isn't a muscle car, period. Nor do I or anyone else in this thread, on this website, etc.
There are a few things that can make a car NOT a muscle car no matter what... And a few that can make a muscle car no matter what. Loose translation.

This could go on for days..
"any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."
For larger cars available in the U.S., the full-size, 4-door Chevrolet Impala SS was available

I had a 1970 Oldsmobile Toronado (front wheel drive), a W-34 with a factory 400 hp 455. Runs low 15s in the quarter mile. A musclecar by most standards. "End of lesson"?

My car is a sports sedan with FWD and V8 muscle.
Not trying to turn this into a who's car is better match, since your car is considered the new Grand prix by a few. Newer is better?
Yes the CTS-V is a coupe now..I was using the older 4 dr as an example.
Too, me the new Hi-po CTS-V is a sports car and it falls under the G37 and such type cars.I might be wrong thinking about that now
