LS6 Intake swap help
Ok so today I decided to install a modified LS6 intake I bought from Tappeter a while back. And well I was unsuccessful cause it would not sit . I don't know if the dod tray is too thick or the intake needs some sanding or both. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks

It should fit just fine... are you hitting something in the rear of the manifold? You have to make sure it's all the way pushed towards the front of the engine. I used a truck VLOM, so I didn't have to do any grinding on that part of the manifold.

It's actually pushed all the way back to where the bolts line up , but wont go further down on rear part of the manifold . You can feel its hitting something at the bottom.

The two prongs that hold the DOD connector in place, might be causing issues. I cut those off. Also, It looks like the DOD connector is sitting too high.
Yes, some trays are thicker then others.
Make sure the PS pump hose clamps aren't hitting the intake. I had to rotate my clamps during install.

PS pump clamps were rotated also, which were in the way too. Tomororw I will double check if the problem is the DOD connector. I appreciate the feedback.
Hmmm.... I didnt pay attention to that but now that you mention it could be a possiblity. Thanks for the feedback too.

I don't think you can just remove it, thee will be oil coming out. I wold say it née to be welded shut, or just modify the connector to the get it to fit and don't worry about the sensor and just leave it unplugged then. But would wait for an word from someone who has run into this before.

ok so I just now finished installing everything , started up the car and all sorts of lights came on. The car feels like its in 4cyl mode. Their is no noticable vacuum that can be heard. Could it be that the DOD was not completely diabled ?

Update
Ok so I took my car to the tuner yesterday to see if my DOD was turned off and sure enought it was. So one of his mechanics did some trouble shooting and two injectors were no working ( which had came with the modified LS6 intake I bought) . Today I put the injectors I had on the LS4 intake , turned the car on and no more mis firing , check engine lights , etc. After a couple of minutes of idling I take it for a spin and WOW !!!!!!!! Car is a complete beast. It easily spins up them tires. I did two 30 rolls and it would also spin easily then it would chirp on second. Now I need a retune and next Wednesday its off to the track. I want to thank you guys for the input especially DavidGXP for helping me trouble shoot .

Make sure you hook up the PCV.
Use the PCV set-up I posted in the sticky. (You will need some sort of PCV before tuning)
As mentioned earlier... a catch can is a must!! All of that oil is contaminating the fuel mixture. Their is more power to be made!!
Your next mod should be 1.8 rockers with LS6 yellow springs, unless you decide to put in a cam.

Ironically I have a catch can (small conceptual polymer) and 1.85 comp pro magnum roller rockers and LS6 yellow springs for sale for the right price. Everything is installed right now but will come off in short order. Catch can helps a ton with blowby and misc oil like Dave said, I empty mine weekly and there has to be 1 oz a week or more.
