Default slightly dissappointing day at track

I ran my impss the other day at the drag strip and only got a best of 14.72@95mph. It did hook up on that run and it was hot. Now the next 2 runs the traction control/anti score kicked on even though tc was off. Is there a certain way to race these cars? It really sucked that i couldnt get a fair run out of this car. Any suggestions?

What were your 60 ft times? Your trap seems a little low, and most people suggest keeping it in 2nd otherwise it shifts into 3rd which causes slower times and trap speeds. But otherwise it's just finding that sweet spot with little to no wheel spin.

2.2 is not "hooking up". The first pass I made I went like 14.8x@96 with a 2.58 60'. A couple passes later running it out in 2nd and netting a 2.08 60' put the car in the 14.0's @ 98 and some change. For every tenth you drop in the 60' is about 2 tenths out the back.

Yeah you want to basically be giving just enough gas to where it doesn't or barely spins at all until you hit the mph where it doesn't spin at all you should be floored.

DomSS-what track do you go too?

GLD in union grove usually, occasionally venture out to Byron or Cordova. GLD is about an hour, Byron is about a hour 45, Cordova is about 2.5 hours.

Gotcha I'm about 1.5 hours from Cordova and Byron. I've only been to Cordova once and I really didn't like the track at all. Been to Byron a few times over the years, and will be heading back to see what the Imp will run. I'm a big fan of the track, and how laid back all the workers are there.

I got my gf's gxp down to a 1.9 60ft, you just have to find the sweet spot. . .
