Default 2006 GXP LS4 DOD delete help.

So long story short. Chevrolet Dealership sent down a 2006 GXP running on 4 cylinders, Dealer states Used car lot put in a Non DOD engine wrong injectors wrong throttle body etc.. We disabled DOD in the tune and still no luck. Spark and fuel on the DOD cylinders, but it wont fire on them. Plus it sounds like its back firing as well sometimes. The oil galley cover looks to be off an LS3 and the DOD wires are just hanging out! So my question comes back around to the camshaft. If someone puts in non DOD lifters and left the DOD camshaft in is this what happens? Just getting up to speed on the DOD LS motors haven't worked much with them. #1 plug when I first took it out was wet #7 was all fouled out. replaced plugs no change.. It almost feels like the thing is loading up at idle. I have to put it up in the Hoist to check #4 and #6

I did check compression on 1 & 7 both at 150psi

So my issue is the DOD cylinders 1 7 4 6

Did you also set the dod related codes to no error reported? Also what codes are you pulling.

Well they wouldnt be able to change engines because the LS4 has an exclusive bolt pattern to the 4t65e bellhousing. But i can clearly see that is NOT a ls4 intake manifold, looks to be a LS6 or LS1 style with a different fuel rail. Your not banging on drums to make that nice beat at the end? lol you clearly have something mechanical going on here, and honestly without pulling the motor to see what was inside, id have a hard time diagnosing that.

Yes deleted the DOD MILs no codes right now. Had a Maf code before but it hasn't come back.

you said you have spark and fuel on the DoD cylinders but it "wont fire them" what do you mean by that? If you have spark and fuel, then the engine is running on all 8. The only real thing i can think of here is that someone deleted the DoD equipment without removing the DoD lifters, in which case that would present a major problem. lol

If its in Seattle then yea that would be David gxp's old ride he's no longer on here but it was camped and if you look on the side of the heads it should say TFS or some things it had heads cam and full valve train upgrades 3:69 gears. Put down about 360 whp

Yup spark and fuel on DOD cylinders. but they wont fire at all. I mean it runs on the other 4 cylinders all the time. So we either have DOD lifters in there or could it be the DOD cam is problem?

nah, DOD cam wouldnt be an issue, there is nothing special about it other then the fact that it is small, but if the DoD lifters are still in there, then yeh. It wouldnt be opening those cylinders i think without the dod valley tray in place.

Its got 243 heads I cant see and TFS stuff on it. I mean this thing got in some sort of fender bender cause the front core support is new and spot welds missing on the fender area. I will takes some pictures after lunch. It would be nice to now what I got going here.

actually thats exactly right, the DoD system opens and closes the oil manifold, so when in V4 mode it is providing oil pressure to the DoD lifters which forces the locking pins in and allows the lifters to collapse preventing the lifters from moving the valve train, if they removed the DoD valley tray and left the DoD lifters in some half assed swap attempt, they would never work because they would have constant oil pressure.

No car came from Seaview Chevrolet techs there wanted nothing to do with it. It could of came from aurburn I dunno where it came from but somewhere aorund seattle
