Default Oil filter wrench

Well my trusty old oil filter wrench has finally bit the dust, it was a Lisle like this.

Not sure what is better but I also see this.

Just seeing if anyone has anything they really like, its not rocket science but I am not really interested in the cheap stuff so spending more for something better is the plan. Let me know what you like. Thanks

Nice. If I turned wrenches for a living it would be a possibility, just too much for the average shade tree mechanic .

I have found that oil filter wrenches usually just end up pissing me off more than anything when laying under vehicles lol. Thankfully I've never needed one for my car because I only do hand tight but when my mechanic used to do the oil on my truck they would crank the god damned thing so tight. What I found works really well is hammering a screwdriver through the middle of the filter lol and then hammering the handle of the screwdriver to get it to loosen enough to turn.

I went with this, used it today and it fits my needs. Hand tight is fine, I always go a little more. Do all my own oil changes so I don't have to worry about it being over tightened.

I'm in the hand tight camp on this one. You should never need a filter wrench to remove an oil filter unless it was installed too tight.
