a/c not working
my a/c when pressed blinks 6 times i think and shuts off, also the compressor is not spinning when i look at it. Is this because the freon is low?
If so how do I put in the freon if the compressor does not work? Every video I have seen needs the compressor to be on. Do I have to go back to a specialist to get this fixed?
any advice greatly appreciated.

You are going to need a few things to help you determine that... Sure you can blindly put in a can of refrigerant, or I can help you diagnose it correctly...
It would be easier if you had a scan tool, but I'm doubting you do. What you will need is a refrigerant gauge set. The one from Harbor Freight will work ok.
The connectors are quick connect, and you cannot mess them up. They only fit onto the correct one. When you put the quick connect fitting on, you will have to twist the valve, "open" to release pressure into the manifold gauge set. On the manifold gauge set, make sure you have the valves closed so you don't vent refrigerant. Write down the pressure readings for the high side and the low side, "blue/red". These are called, "static pressures".
Let me know if you have any questions and for pete sakes please dont recommend to anyone they blindly put in a can of refrigerant.
When you turn on the AC do you hear ANY clicking at all ? These cars some times fail to raise their idle correctly when turning on the AC causing the low rpm fail safe to kick in, it will do this 3 or so times until the RPMS are satisfactory, some times it may do this so many times that it times out. So if it is clicking, that is a indication of this happening. Raise the RPMS manually and try to turn on the AC is you hear the AC trying to engage but then quickly disengages afterwards. If not, get that Refrigerant pressure gauge set from Harbor Frieght and report back your results. If you are not truelly interested in following my directions and trying to truelly figure out what is wrong with it, then I would just take it some where.

thanks for the advice, I went out and bought a refill kit and it came with 2 cans and a gage. When checked the pressure was really low. I used up two cans and it now sits on the blue 35lb section. I used this product called Redtek and it says it is compatible with our refrigerant.

the compressor originally did not come on. than after recharging it, the compressor is on now.
Sint3k should i use another can? Or I guess if I have a leak, than eventually the charge will become low again, than I will know for sure

No way to really know for sure, if its cold... just leave it. You will do more harm having it over charged vs undercharged, I highly suggest injecting some leak dye into it, and getting an UV light after you run it for awhile if it leaks more.
