Ls4 Underrated????
Why do LS4 powered cars trap over 100MPH (102/103) in the quarter mile, and are rated at 303hp, while the old LT1 vettes/camaros had about the same 1/4 mile MPH, with about the same horsepower, but weighted much less?
I think GM underrated the LS4 engines, I think the have about 320hp or more.

I also think they are underated some also. Average ETs would even be better if the damn things would grip in the 60 foot. But the car does have alot more low down torque than top end horsepower so that may be why it seems to be rated low. I don't even shift out of 2nd gear in the quarter mile. I think it has a 2.93 final drive... can't remember for sure. We won't know unless someone yanks it out and straps in on a dyno.

That seems about right for the rated power.

That thing runs a single cat????
Wow, it really needs two... in all honesty though to push that much power out of a stock exhaust designed like that is really impressive. It has 3 more hp and ft/lbs of torque than the Mustang, imagine after bolt-ons.
How bad is the torque steer with that vehicle??? My Taurus was wild off the line and it couldn't hold traction until it hit third gear.

If you're new to the vehicle and drop the pedal (even at 65), you better have a decent handle on the wheel...b/c it will pull you across the highway if you're not paying attention. I've gotten used to it, though, and it's no longer an issue.
