Default Mods going on today

Well, I am putting on the Intense FWI and doing that engine mount mod everyone is talking about. Hmmmm....What to expect? Any thoughts?

Engine mount will give a solid throttle response / tug, gets rid of that "isolated" feeling.

Intake, probably won't notice anything from it. For that reason I put a K&N in and removed the 60mm tube from the box. $45.

Exhaust (D/P) and valve train (cam / rockers) seem to be the restrictive things on these cars.

Just got done. Haven't taken the car out yet but we shall see. I can understand why people order the other CAI's on the market. Getting that tubing through the fender brace is a pain in the ***!!! I can't stress that enough... I may at some point get the K & N or the Cold Air Inductions one as I don't like the PCM just sitting there. I am sure the FWI will show some gains as the stock airbox is quite restrictive, especially with that stupid tube in there. I will post again after I take the car out.

i expect your a/f ratio to take a nose dive.

And why is that? Does that mean everyone with a FWI or CAI without a tune would? It didn't in my GP GT... I am sure the PCM will "learn" it after awhile.

im not misinforming people. im speaking from experience. all the cold airs i tried, or built, they a/f took a dump at 5300 down below 11.8. this was back in early summer. all of the cold airs i have seen with the stock ecm have taken a nose dive in the a/f range above 52-5500 rpms. dyno graphs are fun aren't they?!?!

just because i don't have a scanner doesn't mean i don't know whats going on. spark plugs say a lot lol




if you're happy, thats all that matters really

Did the car have enough time for the PCM to adjust to what was done? For the last 5 years I was tuning the 3.8L V-6 engine and not a 5.3L V-8. The last fuel injected V-8 I had was a 1994 Formula. Thanks for all the info.
