Default Excessive Wind Noise?

Has anyone else here experienced alot of wind noise around the top corner of the driver side window? Maybe I'm being too picky, but I've owned quite a few vehicles, and none of them had this much wind noise. Please post any experiences you've had, and if you found a fix.

Thanks Guys!

Nope, none at all. I would go ahead and inspect your weatherstripping around the door and your hinges to make sure the door closes squarely to the body.

The only annoying noise mine makes is a tick/flutter/rattle deal from the vents when the fan is on anything over the first speed setting. One of those things you just know will never be fixed and would probably get worse if the dealer started taking it apart and putting it back together.

FWIW, and it might not be much help, but that's all too common with this car. In fact, just about every reviewer said that one of the downsides in this car is the "excessive wind noise." That and the horrible seats

The "machine gun" noise????

All GMs have done that since the mid 90s. . . i first noticed in my dad's 95 Buick, his 98 Buick does the same thing.

I wouldn't say its a machine gun type noise, just a wind whistling type sound. It really isn't that bad, the radio masks most of the noise. On a side note, does anyone know what bulb number to use in the headlights and fogs on these cars? I'd like to replace them with Silverstars.

I'm pretty sure they're not available.

go to silverstars site... and you can find a complete list of all the bulb numbers for our cars... but they don't have silverstars available for all of our applications...

our headlights are H11 and our fogs are H9 I believe...

Really? You LOVE the seats? The only way i could LOVE these seats is if i was 300-400# and as wide as the dimension between the door and the center console. And i'm neither of the above, nor am i thin. I slide around on the seat and need to lean into the door on hard right turns. The lack of side bolsters irks me.

I have taken my Impala back to the dealer several times about the wind noise issue. They claim that it is a design flaw in the door. According to my dealer, they say that air gets past the glass and trapped in the little area at the upper right corner of the door. So the wind gets past the outer window seal and not past the inner one. I am not sure if it is true or simply the dealer giving up.

I don't know...i just don't seem to have this issue. Maybe my hearing is bad or i'm just used to it after a year & a half. What bothers me more than anything is that in order to have a window open, you need to open 2 others, at least partially, to get rid of the horrible, ear popping "reverb" that eddiemoney described above.

Nope...our Lows & Fogs are H11, and the highs are H9. And when i asked sylvania about Silverstars for our application, they said that it takes years to develop, test and get bulbs approved by the DOT...so don't expect these any time soon.

Others might be different but mine is not constant. It seems to be most noticeable when there is a strong cross wind. My personal thoughts are that it is actually air noise from between the two doors. At least that was what was happening on my Charger last year.

interesting... I don't get the "machine-gun/helicopter/reverb" at all with just one window or with just my sun roof open...

now my wife's Equinox... that's a different story!! open up just her sunroof, and your head wants to explode from the pressure/helicopter reverb that THAT thing puts out....

Maybe the MC's different configuration helps, but you open a single window in an Impala and it sounds like someone is beating directly on your ear drum.

I have the 07 IMp SS and I hear the whistling noise on the drivers side only when in a cross wind or swirling wind. Not real loud but noticeable.
