Default I ordered some STBs...

I'm tired of the wishy washy suspension in my IMP SS. Finally broke down and ordered a complete set of strut tower braces, front and back with brackets, from Don Rome. They are supposedly the better set available which has no problems clearing the alternator or pushing the rear of the hood up.

What do those who have done this have to report on what improvements you noticed?

IMO I've found the car has alot less body roll. You'll definately notice a difference in handling that's for sure. I think it's the best $140 you can spend on these cars. And as you mentioned, there is NO problem with hood bulge or alternator clearance with the DonRome brackets and modified bar.

How hard is this to install for a noob who hasn't done much other than install an intake? What tools are required? Whats the ballpark estimate to have the job done by someone?

From what I've read, it's so easy a retarded chimp could do it.

Yea I'm probably one of the most mechanically inclined people on earth when it comes to cars and this was easy for me. Competely bolt on. You'll have the front one on in 10 min. Just gotta take the factory nuts off the bolts in all the locations for the brackets, put the brackets on, then put the nuts back on. Then screw in your STB do the brackets you just put in. Really simple. Rear takes a little longer only cause you have to lay in your trunk and there's less room to work with.

You mean you're the LEAST mechanically inclined....or maybe mechanically DEclined, 20SS07.

Seriously, if you can install a CAI, you can install these in your sleep. Short of losing all of your strut bolts in the process, there is soooooo very little room for error.

finally! Was getting tired of the roll in this car. Last car was a '95 9c1 and that thing felt great on the road even after a couple hundred thousand miles. Now, I would need: 1 Modified Front STB Bar & 1 Standard Rear STB Bar For Impala SS/Monte Carlo SS/Grand Prix GXP With V8 and Front & Rear STB Brackets?

Great indeed. Even greater if you paint it and make it stand out a little.

HATERS! Nah j/k. I'm not completely sure how I feel about it yet. I wanted something different. I was going to paint them red but that's really not different. I like how corny did a red theme on his blue SS and we had a discussion over at NAIOA how I should go with a blue theme on my red SS. So just tryin it out for now.
