Looks like a good deal for someone who wants power and utility all in one package...they aren't as bad looking as I thought they were gonna be. Either way, I wouldn't be threatened lining up with one of them.

They're considerably slower than the original SRT 4.

I read an article in Road and Track on it. Not a bad looking vehicle, I'm sure it has lots of potential seeing as the old SRT 4 has a ton of aftermarket support. They ran 14.4 @ 103 with it, which leads me to believe it doesn't launch all that well but has excellent top end. I don't think I've seen any on the road yet, I'll have to keep my eye out for them.

the vehicle is torque limited in first and second. third it lets it all hangout. if the torque limiting wasn't there, i could see it trapping 105 easy. from a roll it's going to be nasty for a stock ute

Wrong. If its putting down 281 at the wheels, which makes up for 70-80% of your total HP, then that car has more HP. It only has a total of 285hp, so that means about 56 to 84hp LESS is going to the front.

Safe to say its only putting out about 225 HP to the front wheels.

Or it is under-rated from the factory, much like the original Neon version. Since they dyno showed 281 at the wheels, I doubt it is 55 horses optimistic.

It may be 281 bhp (brake horsepower on a engine dyno) or flywheel HP.

You and Taz must have both missed the part of the article where they say they got their numbers from a chassis dyno. 281 to the wheels obviously.

I wonder if some kind of tuner can remove the torque limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. Do that and a set of DR's on the front, I bet it would run 13's with just those two things.

Oh, I see it now; you are right. Those little things are spunky but too bad they are butt ugly....

Just checked out Edmunds, approx 3200+lbs car 281hp&261lb at the wheels and 0-60 6.2 and 1/4mi@14.6@100mph????????????????? Thats slow if you ask me given the power #'s stated above, to the wheels gotta be a typo. Our Ls4 cars weigh anywhere between 3550lbs to 3800lbs and dyno to the wheels about 245hp to 260hp/265lb to 280lb and most of us did a high 13's in bone stock form. And don't tell me transmission differences because ours is not exactly perfect

I don't care if Ghandi wrote that article... I am with Taz and LS4GXP. There is no way it's 281whp with those track times. Unless they just sat there and spun. With that kind of power, they should be able to run high 13's with a terrible launch.

That shook me at first too, thats why I suggest brake horsepower instead of rwhp. Too bad they are ugly as sin-->just like most dodge products.
