more exhaust systems for Ls4s Couple of days ago installed my buddys 99 GP GTP stock exhaust system into my 06 gxp just to see if all the aftermarket 2-1/2inch exhaust systems will work, well it is identical bolt on fit even all the hangers are in the right area except for one wich is a easy fix most if not all aftermarkets address that in their kits,my car is lowered with eibachs and this this stock 99gtp exhaust clears everything. The reason I did this because the aftermarket is flooded with 3800v6 exhaust kits and are cheaper than the only magnaflow kit, I'm ordering mine from SLP, loudmouth kit with trapizoid tips for $499 its going to sound nice coming from a v8. 97-08 WB are all identical exhaust tubing/bends.......................just wanted to add one more thing I drove around with the gtp stock exhaust kit for a couple of days these v8s love back pressure I pulled out couple of .91Gs from my G-meter The gas pedal is so touchie there is **** load of low end grunt here it just squeezes you into the seat. I never even came close to .81G out of my stock exhaust. 
Are you talking abotu the hanger in the middle of teh exhaust??? Also, please take pics because if the Loudmouth system from SLP will fit with the change of that hanger, I am going to order one as I hate the Magnaflow kit I have now.

ps my stock exhaust that was cut up and redone with magnaflows is now on the 99GTP,sounds good on that SCv6 car it just shows you vice virsa works on both cars. SLP WILL DIRECTLY BOLT ON YOUR CAR.

I may be late to the game, but after reading this thread, I was looking up what kits there were for the 3800 cars, and found this on dynomax.com

This is a kit listed for a '04 Grand Prix, and in the diagram, you see they made a note....
Problem is, it seems to be a 2 1/4 kit, so it wouldn't be much good for an LS4. But it proves LS4Gxp's point even more so.

Does it sound any better than the Magnaflows? Where did you mount the Loudmouth muffler? I was thinking of where the resonator used to be.

^^^ Glad they worked out for you - my Z came from the factory as a 345 hp one, the SLP dual / dual's welds looked like Frankenstein's ***. On the Z's, the muffler is a show surface. I'd never buy one of their exhausts because of it.
M/F on the MCSS has machined finishes / rolled edges.
But, I did buy this http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=21033 and it looked great. Don't know who was running quality control on the exhaust.
