I wouldnt try over the 6100 redline with the stock valvetrain. I believe those stock pushrods start bending and it would be downhill from there.

I searched a little and someone changed it to 6500 and bent them all. 6200 might work though.

i've redlined abit over 6k and i think the computer is programmed to shut down the engine like a limiter... happend to me. I think you need to tune it to go over

Still have the stock valve springs installed, so I left redline at 6100. Transmission is set to shift at 6000. It never shifts later than 6010.

I have been tuned and after doing the exhaust and intake my engine wants 6100 or so. You can listen to my exhaust in my other posts and hear the engine shift too early on my test runs. I have shifted manually but hitting 6100 with out the rev limiter kicking in is hard and when I do it 6100 I pull hard in 2nd. I am going to be installing 1.8 roller rockers real soon and will probably install new springs. I just wanna know if I should change my springs and or related hardware. I still want to know what all of you shift at and if you can give me any recommendations then post away!

I will more then likely end up with comp cams push rods, 918 springs and 1.8 roller rockers. I want to use the Crane kit, but I'm not to comfortable with setting the lash, so I may go with Harland sharp. I have done rockers on old school V8's but on the Ls I have no idea. Plus I would fire my old school V8's up and loosen the lock nuts untial I heard a click and the I would tighten down the lock nuts 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn past zero lash. Again on a Ls I'm clueless

E-mail the tech department at comp cams. See what they say about changing the valve springs. They told me with 1.8 rockers don't worry about it unless i was putting a bigger cam in or planning on reving to 7k. Otherwise they recommended upgraded pushrods(not oil restricted) and let em eat. I was told there is no benefit to running oil restricted pushrods with a stock oil pump. If running a high volume, high pressure pump they can reduce windage and keep more oil in the pan than up top. The stock valve springs can typically turn 6200-6300 max. That is max not constantly. As for the pushrods I don't know their limit. I upgraded and my max shift limit at wot is 6100. And this works out pretty good for me. So there you go...
