Those Tbss get on it at 400+hp dont matter how much it ways my buddy got a new dennali with the 400hp damn thing keeps up with me to about 95 fast truck got beat by a 2002 saleen s81 supercharged had me by about 1 1/2 by the end. I wasnt expecting to win.

actually weight plays a big part of it if you also had 400 hp and could hook you would not lose.....and furthermore a denali weighs like 6 or 7k lbs just cause it has 100 more hp than you shouldnt put it at your door till almost 100

 

Im not one to argue BUT!!! the denalli can do a 1/4 mile time of 14.5 at 93mph that is pretty quick for a truck TBSS with the rear wheel drive setup gets it in 14.2 at 98 info from truck trend. Im just sticking up for my buddy who paid way to much to get a 1/4 mile time of 14.5

well i apologize didnt realize you were talking about a truck i thought you were talking about the SUV denali didnt know they now have a sport truck so i retract my previous statement and i also know how fast the ss trailblazer is i almost bought one but i bought the imp instead no harm no foul

 

Hey no problem man yeah i wouldnt call it a sport truck either its more of a luxury truck that hauls *** gmc has made serria denallis for a couple of years know, but it just got the new 6.2L mother does haul cadillac ext has similar track time a little slower though

 

I had one of those cadilac trucks with the 6.2L race me up a hill. I was very suprised, they must have some decent gears too, i won but it wasn't a full on walk just a steady pull. I would compare them to a stock 5.0. Not to bad for a big *** truck.

 

400+ hp? Only after mods. They're rated @ 390 hp.

Weight doesn't matter? The truck has only ran a best of 9.17 sec ET in the 1/8th with that power and the stock 4.10 gears. Thats at least a 14.2 sec ET in the 1/4. These trucks aren't fast in stock trim. Not to me anyway.

 

Except the 8.1 is a diesel engine, so no, no it wouldn't suck gas at all.

why is it putting down such a small amount of HP for a such a big block?? and the torque isn't that much too given the size of the motor (8.1).

I found it funny when a V8 that is supposed to run low 14's high 13's is bragging about beating various ricers, Neons, Civics, V6's, and an old heavy LS1 Impala and Crown Vic that probably ran well in the 15 sec ETs range on a good day. A V8 bragging about easy wins is a sad thing to see IMO. Thats why I started that thread. I'm not ragging on the cars, just the people who think its cool to say they beat something that is much slower. If you're going to brag about something at least brag about something worth while, and some are.

Sorry, but the LS4 powered vehicles I've driven felt slow and the one I raced was slow for having exhaust work compared to my stock 14 sec TBSS. Like I said in my first post. I know they can be relatively quick when modded, I just haven't seen any. The mid 14 sec was based off my experience and the known ET's of my wife's Trailblazer.

Quite frankly, I could see the LS1 claim. I beat a friend of mine in the 1/8th in the TBSS on multiple runs because he was sleeping on the line. He has a 01 WS6 w/ headers. I ran 9.5-9.3s compared to his 9.1's (which is still slow for an LS1), but I still beat him. 1/4 mile he would have caught and passed me, but the short track helped the truck. We did find out later that he had engine probs and was running on 7 cyls and missing part of a piston etc.

My LS4 car runs 8.9 in the 1/8th, only had a CAI and res delete at that time. I've raced a couple TBSS's on the street, and they go pretty good from a dig, but I eventually pass them, usually at about 50ish mph. They arent the quickest cars on the road, but they don't do too bad for what they are.

 

Hay Jack-***, I mean Greed4Speed, Um, I'm not sure but If I were you and your saying you beat a LS4 Engine car with what you say is a low 14 sec. TBSS, then I call, well maybe, bull-****, at least if you didnt beat him by much, unless they weren't actually racing you. And by the way, got any footage to prove what your saying is true????? My high 13 low 14 second car, is pretty quick for what it is. Oh and in-case you didn't know, when you sit higher, such as your TBSS it makes the butt dyno feel more better. I'm not saying you didn't beat the LS4 car, you prolly did, since its so hard to get a good launch in one of these things, and you have, what 60 some odd hp more???. Most people arn't bragging just stating their kill list (i hope), and when we do brag about lt1, ls1 and other faster kills you guys say its bullshit so what the **** do you want lol. You test drove(or your wife) a ls4 car, did you try launching that thing? Most people that have these cars and don't know anything about them probably just stomp the pedal.

Yes, I hammer on cars in test drives. I drove 3 different ones and they just didn't feel quick. Honestly the G35 we test drove felt better.

I wasn't braggin when i put that in, i say lots of neon cause the rice ones always try and i pretend they are even with me till 60 then i get on it and watch their face. I do that to pretty much every slow car. I really wasn't braggin on half those kills those r just all the cars i've raced, i've only had the car for 4 months. There are a lot of sleepers around here too, like stock looking sunfires, civics, gtps that are in the 13's. So you never know what your going to get. The sleeper thing is in up here i guess. I'm really taking what your saying with a laugh, on the street anything is possible thats why you hear stories of ls1's beating c5s and **** like that cause some people can't drive.
