I have had a buddy buy a damaged SS hood from them and repaired it personally. This actually saved him $1500 over dealer cost and it looked great when it was done.

nothing some duct tape and bondo won't fix......J/K

If I could do body work I'd try buying a damaged hood for cheap I bet you could pick that up for less than $100 and if you know your fiberglass repair good enough and have the time you could have it ready for paint with less than $150 in it. If you can get the paint and do it yourself then total cost for you would be less than $250. The other choice is buy that and have someone repair and paint it and I'd bet you would still have less than $500 in it total installed. The trick is making sure that it is infact repairable.

Some people shouldn't even be allowed to sell things. I've seen stuff like that at a few swap meets. Totally pointless. He should definitely be slapped. I could fold that hood in half with my bare hands, definitely not worth fixing.

I think it'd be ok for donor sections. Lets say for some reason you needed the back corner section or something. It'll sell eventually.

The hoods cost too much as a service part. Somebody will patch one up.

Lets think about this a little. I don't imagine he would waste his time or money to put something like that up for sale if he hadn't sold similar items in the past. If it is indeed repairable it's a lot cheaper than paying $2000 for a WS6 hood from the dealer. I would much rather take my chances trying to fix a hood that I got cheap than shell out two grand and then have to paint the hood anyway.
I personally know the guy who is selling that hood. He sold a similar WS6 hood about 5 months ago. It was a pewter hood that was missing the front driver side corner and the hood could be folded in HALF. I believe it sold for around $300.
If the stuff sells, there is no reason not to try. Its basic business. Take what you can get.
Like I said, I know the guy who is selling the hood. He is not trying to screw anyone. He listed it as being damaged and took detailed pictures of what was wrong with the hood. I have bought a lot of stuff from him and have been very happy with everything. He sells a lot of quality items. Just look at the guys feedback rating if you have any questions. You say it is stupid of him to sell something like that. I say its stupid to throw money in the dumpster especially when it has been proven that stuff like that sells.
