well not to be an a$$ or anything but i think you may just wanna take the ls6 intake that you may or may not have gotten, an give up already its not getting you anywhere, if its an ls1 just sell it and buy an ls6 somewhere else and if it is a ls6 put it on and be happy

Stangkilr, I'm serious when I tell you that you need to keep your eyes open if you're certain that you pulled off an LS6 intake, because I'm going to say it for the last time, I DID NOT RECEIVE AN LS6 INTAKE!!! DAMNIT, I don't know what the hell else I have to do to prove that. I'm sorry that you think I'm trying to scam you because I'm absolutely not. Send me the coolant intake lines so I at least don't have to buy those again.
You know I have purchased many parts off these boards over the years and have never had a problem with the exception of a bent axle in a rear end.
Anyhow out of my own curiousity I took an intake that I had and sprayed it with brake clean to see if the yellow paint marker would come off. I did this 3 times and even let the cleaner sit on there the 3rd time for a couple minutes then scrubbed it pretty good with a shop towel and you know what, the marker is still there???????
I'm not taking sides or trying to discredit anyone but after what I tried the validity of some of this guys "friends" accounts of the events that took place in the removal of the intake are beginning to sound a bit well....shady. Maybe someone else outside of all this can try the brake clean on the yellow paint and post the results.

Stangkilr,
Was the writing on the passenger side or the drive side of the intake? And which side was the part number on?
If you are looking at the intake from the front of the car is the part number/yellow writing on the left or the right?

I think stangkilr though he could pull a fast one by selling an ls1 intake off corvette knowing that it wouldn't have an egr, and to the untrained eye or just at a glance it would look like an ls6 intake, and the buyer got duped... as for number of post or good standing for an example I've been burned by people with excellant feedback on ebay, so that doesn't account for anything. I'm sorry the buyer got ripped off, what comes around goes around and eventually everyone will get theirs.. just my .02

It was sealed the whole time it left my house. Byron, yes I did realize I forgot the coolant lines after I got back and was going to ship them to you but then this all started. I am still going to ship them to you though since I said I was going to throw them in. I dont care if you are trying to scam me, im keeping my word on at least this. You will need them with that LS6 intake anyways.
And im sure almost anyone else would too. All you did was get defensive and insist that you KNEW it was an LS6 intake and thats all there is to it. Well let me ask you, HOW did you know that? What part number did it have? Did you ACTUALLY double check it, or did you just pull it off and box it up because like I said..youd have NO reason to believe it was anything less? Just some food for thought.
Somebodys not telling the truth on this one...
some parts have quality "marks" when certain parts are being made like plastic some things have to be "checked" off with a china marker saying essentially the operator found no "flash" (excess plastic) or other defects.
I used to own Stangkilr's car. I can tell you that it was an LS6 intake he took off. The car was stock the whole time I had it and I never changed anything on the car or let anyone work on it. The only thing I did was change the oil. It had 20k miles on it when I sold it to him.
Wow, I really hope you all can get this resolved. From reading all of the posts it looks like both parties are telling the truth. The only variable that comes to mind is it was possibly switched after it left Stangkilr's hands.
I know stangkilr (Justin) lives in a smaller town. Maybe someone at the post office new of him or something. I know he sells and ships alot of stuff. What method of shipping did he use? I havent talked to Justin about this whole thing I just seen this thread and thought I should add some input because I used to own the Camaro and I can tell you guys Justin would NEVER try to screw someone over. He is probably the nicest person I know.
I just called Justin about this whole thing. He said he used usps. He shipped it from Oak Grove where he lives. I asked him about maybe a chance someone knew about the ls6 intake and swapt them. He laughed at 1st but then thought about it for a second. He said the guy that took the package asked him what the intake came off of Justin told him. Justin said he could no way see that guy switching the intakes though. Its kind of weird though if you ask me. I just know that my old car had an LS6 intake on it and I know Justin wouldnt ship the wrong part ever. Either your trying to scam Justin or something happend during the shipping process. Justin seemed very upset about the whole situation. He has no idea whats going on, all he knows is that he shipped an LS6 intake period.

The intake just had a yellow mark on it, it came off after I sprayed it with brake cleaner. I have the GM stuff, its pretty strong. The part number was on the driver side for the person who asked.
