Anyhow out of my own curiousity I took an intake that I had and sprayed it with brake clean to see if the yellow paint marker would come off. I did this 3 times and even let the cleaner sit on there the 3rd time for a couple minutes then scrubbed it pretty good with a shop towel and you know what, the marker is still there???????
I'm not taking sides or trying to discredit anyone but after what I tried the validity of some of this guys "friends" accounts of the events that took place in the removal of the intake are beginning to sound a bit well....shady. Maybe someone else outside of all this can try the brake clean on the yellow paint and post the results.

I appreciate everyone for their comments, good or bad. The bottom line is that I got an LS1 intake when I paid for an LS6. I can't believe that I have to say it again! I've got the box, the intake, the pictures and the part number of what I received to prove that it is not an LS6 intake! What does he have besides a huge post count?! Maybe that's the one positive that will come out of this for me is that I will increase my post count so, maybe one day, I will also be bulletproof to some of you guys.
I've bought quite a bit of stuff from LS1tech sponsors and only a few things from members. I can provide a list if necessary, but I don't think it is. One reason I tend to stay away from buying from individuals is because I've always been afraid that something like this would happen. However, I've become more complacent about this in the last couple years because, like I said before, I haven't been burned until this point.
Anyways, Before I buy anything for or do anything to my car, I do my research on LS1Tech and I do a lot of it. This place is full of excellent information and a lot of people with an incredible amount of knowledge about these cars. However, unlike most people who have a damn question, I use the freaking SEARCH function first rather than throw up a post!!!! It's amazing how many answers can be found this way! That's one major reason I don't have many posts. I would really hope that we can all agree that this has absolutely nothing to do with either one of our post counts. Pay attention to the facts!
Until you guys are put in a situation like this, you will never know how frustrating it is. Once again, it's not about the money, I can afford to buy another intake, this is about not getting what I paid for.
As far as pictures go, I can take whatever pictures you want me to, and I still will if asked, but obviously pictures aren't good enough for some people!
Once again, thank you everyone for at least listening to me bitch and moan about my extremely disappointing experience on LS1Tech!

Now we're finally getting somewhere. That's what I was freaking talking about yesterday. No matter how crazy it may sound, something had to happen! I tell you what. Maybe this will solve this puzzle. Can Justin describe, in detail the box that he shipped me the intake in? Include the type of tape he used, where he put the shipping label, what type of box, etc. I will go home today and take pictures of the box that I was sent and we can compare that to what he thinks he sent me! Maybe we can finally get somewhere with this... That would be the ultimate outcome of this pissing match to prove that we're both right!Originally Posted by GET_SOM
I just called Justin about this whole thing. He said he used usps. He shipped it from Oak Grove where he lives. I asked him about maybe a chance someone knew about the ls6 intake and swapt them. He laughed at 1st but then thought about it for a second. He said the guy that took the package asked him what the intake came off of Justin told him. Justin said he could no way see that guy switching the intakes though. Its kind of weird though if you ask me. I just know that my old car had an LS6 intake on it and I know Justin wouldnt ship the wrong part ever. Either your trying to scam Justin or something happend during the shipping process. Justin seemed very upset about the whole situation. He has no idea whats going on, all he knows is that he shipped an LS6 intake period. Teching In
I agree, it sounds like the only uncertain variable in this situation is what happened after the box got into the hands of the USPS. And it seems that if that is the case it would validate both parties involved and allow them to pursue the real culprit or at least drop the hole thing knowing that both are good guys and that they have been telling the truth.
WOW, after reading all, yes all the posts this is a great for problem solvers. At first I thought that my2ndls1 was at fault for frauding however as i read on i take that back. I thought on how i would feel in this situation, sick and helpless came to mind. I wouldnt just be like ok **** this sucks and move on. I would definatly fight this until the end. I dont think its over kill. I think its trying to figure out the truth from both parties. As someone who fears my2ndls1's situation I can side with his actions. He wasnt rude just to the point. I am on the fence just watching and my input matters very little and no one knows me but to get someone else's opinion on the matter is always good. Questions are always very good to ask and answering them shouldnt be a friggin olympic event. Facts are facts so present them all and hopefully figure this out. I truely believe that this is a hard call to make. There are crazy *** people out there who can screw you no matter what. I wouldnt let this die until everything is answered. Im not saying either is lying its just a hard call to make. I can feel for both guys on this one.
On a second thought I would do all I could to clear my name of scamming. Verify things both ways. I think that variable is a good thing to look into. Its the middle ground that seems to be a little gray. Both parties should be willing to resolve this. LS1tech is great so I think its shouldnt take pulling any hair to prove it.

So Stangkillr bought the car used. The previous owner could have scammed Stangkillr and once Stangkillr found out, he figured he would scam the next person.
No pics or part numbers were posted before it was sold. If Stangkillr was such a great person at selling stuff, then maybe he should have posted the pics and part number in the very first post....

If you ask me your both at fualt and both were just begging to be burned. Why would you sell or buy something on the internet with out pictures to prove what it is. However taking pictures is the sellers job and if you dont have pictures to prove that you sent him an ls6 it kind of makes you look like you screwed him unintentional or intentional either way it dosent look good.
another thing that im wondering is why if you have an ls6 intake and you are upgrading to a fast intake why would you sell your block coolant lines unless you have an extra set .....how about since both stories sound believable maybe meet half way ?as in 150 each ?

If I were you 2ndls1 I wouldn't touch the intake anymore and take it down to the police station and explane what happend and maybe they can take some of killedbystang's fingerprints off of it thus showing that he knowingly sold you an ls1 intake as an ls6.
I would be so pissed off If I were you 2ndls1. Good luck

the cops wont give a ****, its worth 300$ and im assuming its across state lines. so it isnt worth it to them to file all the paper work to get fingerprints off it and then get every1 elses. bureaucracy at its best.

Call me when you take it to the police station and ask for fingerprints.....cause I want to see the laughter that follows that request from Americas finest

Because when I turned my last car back to stock I put the stock LS1 intake on it along with the 98-00 style coolant lines. I had an extra set laying around because my new car had the new style ones as well.Originally Posted by gEtyOPaPiOn

Hey, I think Stangkilr and I may finally be seeing eye to eye. I think we should probably try to work this out in private and maybe get some advice from everyone else if needed. Thank you for being willing to help me out on this one Stangkilr! and thank you also to everyone else who kept this thread alive. We'll keep you posted...

This proves absolutely nothing. I've purchased things from other boards where the seller was a moderator with 50,000 posts and I got ripped off. I purchansed an item from ebay and the feedback rating there was over 4000 with 100% positive and I got ripped off yet again. Post count and feedback ratings mean jack squat.Originally Posted by 98TADRIVER
