i dont even like talking to people about how fast their car is unless they have been to the track AT LEAST once.. and actually ran it down the track....

otherwise, they have not a clue what they are talking about..

dyno numbers and track times still dont usually add up.. i hate when people go off how much power they make...

i thought this discussion started on what is the fastest stock lt1 car???? I always knew stock to be stock internals with bolt ons(headers, cai, etc.) there is a guy around here running 11's with a stock motor.

lemons12, I find it amusing to see you basically saying, "Just because someone saw something happen doesn't mean that's the way it should have or will usually happen."

I agree with you 100% that LS1's are faster stock for stock and mod for mod most of the time (because it is a fact), but you're arguing against people who are using the same logic that you've used to defend your arguments in other posts.

Just an observation that I found amusing

I read the entire thread. Some people stated their personal experiences which were, by far not the norm, and you told them that. That's exactly what you did when you stated that it takes an aggressive heads/cam LT1 to beat a lid/catback LS1 (and that the LS1 will still out trap the LT1). You were going off of your personal experience, not the norm. That's the same thing they were doing here.

...what? Do you go to the Chevy dealership and pick up a brand new Camaro with PS headers and K&N intake...? Well if not, then your idea of stock is different than most, I would think. Not trying to bash on you, but would everyone else agree that bolt-ons is nowhere near stock? If that were the case, there would be a ton of "stock" cars that were much faster than when they drove off the lot.

of course though driver error and so on plays a part
Yep...i'll put my money on an LS1 over an LT1 any day of the week with equal drivers.

Of course not AChotrod, I don't think anyone said that. But mod for mod the LS1 is faster

LOL! We agreed. Well at least thats what I thought? Bone stock means no mods at all what so ever. But there are alot of "stock class" races where you can use DRs and gearing, computer work etc.

i understand that stock is no mods.. i have argued that MANY times.. and yes "Stock classes" dont always mean "stock".. i dont agree with that though..

If they want or someone calls you out saying your cheating they can do a teardown and they can vacuum test for a cam. If you dont let them you are DQd

friend of mines stock 93 formula a4 ran an 8.52@79 in the 8th. should be around 13.3s in the 1/4. it did however have a set of m/t e.t. streets and the temp. was around 48 degrees.
