Some of us love the boxy third gen looks, but i prefer a LT1 body camaro over a LS1 camaro, and the LS1 TA over the LT1 TA. I think a third gen camaro with a 4 inch hood looke better than a 4th gen camaro with anything, but a 4th gen TA with a big nasty raptor hood looks better than a 3rd gen TA with any hood.

i am abig fan of the boxy look of 3rd gens.
i do not like the lt1 camaro looks, unless they have the piaa headlights, and gfx. i dont like conventional cowl hoods on lt1,ls1 or 3rd gen camaros.
but the sunoco hood is a bad mf on the lt1 and ls1 camaros.
it would be cool if sunoco was available for 3rd gens. also.
my preference is a 3rd gen firebird with ws6 ram air hood.

I love that the prices are low. I didn't buy my cars for their resale value, and the low prices are what allowed me to get back into an LT1

Yea, it works well on the 85-90 TA, i dont like the 91/92 TA, the GFX just dont do anything for me and are a PITA to clean. The LT1s look great with the 98+ style ram air in the TA.

The RS and Z28 were the same from 86-90/91-92 but the bird was different for the upgrade, the formula was the only one that was similar to the V6 car except the 91/92 bird. Even the older 82-84 camaros were different from the base to the V8 package.
Well, I never noticed any difference in the bumpers on the pre 91-92 models :\ If you could provide some pics, that'd be awesome

I actually prefer the 91-92 years, much more aerodynamic

i get the lo price, but the main hassle of a lt1 is a the dam opti
and the cooling system, not to mention its hard to tune and good tuners few andfar between
. imo a lt1 costs more to build to equal a ls1 power, not just bolt ons.
all kinds of blocks and heads to choose from that are found in pass. vehicles
a stock 6.0 with a ls6 intake and exhaust manifolds makes around 400bhp
mill the heads and add even stock ls6 cam and its still over 425bhp with lt headers. and the stock ls ignition is superior to any. stock ls ignition coils lights off even 1000+hp forced induction engines.
no need to swap to fancy igniton systems like the lt1 needs for serious power cars.

Well, this is a 88 firebird...

the rear of a 89 (same body as 88)

This is a trans am/GTA car GFX setup...85-90 front

Rear...

That is why i like the 85-90, looks WAY more mean.

I think the 3rd. Gens have nothing on the 4th. Gens in looks, i love the looks of my Camaro, i loved them when they first came out, IMO, the 3rd. Gens are just too boxey.
Thanks for the economics 101 lesson lol

Ah, I see. I never saw many pre-90 Bird's, but you are dreaming if you think they look meaner than this (I'm joking, to each their own heh)

Yea, just never like the aero GFX, the 91/92 wing is actually been said to cause lift rather than down force!

Your welcome! lol

As for the 3rd. Gen Firebird/TAs, i'll never be a fan, don't see where they look mean , all i see when i look at them is a reminder of Knightrider lol, i hated that show. But thats just me, i've never really been a fan of the Firebirds really of any Gen., the camaros are another story. But its all good.

think everyone likes 3rd gens especially the camaros, but me and my buddy agree they had shitty motors now if lt1 where every stock in one i might of been a little more persuaded to buy one over mine. there cool cars but the 4th gens got some power. I really like it when people in mustangs think there faster then camaros, just because mustang are qaurters on the dollar and camaros are more like nickels on the dollar dont mean nothing if more mustang owner drove a camro they'd be more persuaded. my body is lookin to buy an 04 stang im trying to talk him into an ls1

As i said.. All comes down to driver. I just saw a bone stock auto go 13.8@102 a few weeks ago at firebird. Fastest manual i saw was 13.9@104. LT1's will not trap high bone stock.

Either way they get spanked all day long for the most part and that's all that really matters right
