The youngest LT1 car is now 11 years old, used cars lose their value. I'm not complaining, I think if those 6litereater targa tops come out I'm tempted to find a stocker that's dirt cheap and cutting the roof off.

Hell if you shop around hard enough you can get a stalled and sprayed high mileage LS1 for $5-6k.

Nothing special about LT1's, they aren't exotics/classics/etc. right now we are nothing but what makes us happy and that's perfectly fine in my book.

I shopped around for amonth trying to find a new vehicle for a iheard about mine for $2500, i got a good deal but i've spent nearly $1000 fixing it up which i think i could get about 4k for mine if i wanted to sell it. My retarded friend all the time is wanting put a v8 in his stang i try telling him he doesnt have enough money cause ford **** cost to much and he wants a 350

Gas. Plus they are old.

It also depends on what area you are in.

It's not just the LT1...I've seen LS going for several k less from when I bought my car 3 years ago. Our cars are never going to be worth a lot. They are something the owners value more then anything. I look at my car and see a 15k plus ride sitting there. If I wanted to sell it I would get jack squat for it unless some sucker came along

It goes in cycles. 3rd gens weren't worth squat all through the 90's and the beginning of the 00's, but their value in the past 2 or 3 years has started to rebound.

There are Irocs on Ebay going for the same and in some cases more than their original sale price.

I wouldn't expect 4th gen values to start to rebound until the 5th gen Camaro has gotten "old" in the eyes of the general public. And if GM sticks to its guns and really does never end up building another Firebird, (6th gen?), I think we may see 4th gen Firebirds and T/A's begin to appreciate sooner than 4th Gen Camaros.

If you do what the car is designed for, which is driving it and modding it, it's not ever going to be worth anything..

I laugh at some of the people that buy the $20K+ LS1 Car..yea, it might be worth more than mine..NOW..but give it 10 yrs, and lets see who's also worth 3-4K.

Then we'll see which worthless car is faster..and who spent less overall..

I'm curious what Z28s and Formulas (or even T/A WS6) net 20K!!

I got mine for $3,800 delivered to me with 93K miles and I'm willing to bet I have every option except for T-Tops. It does have a few quirks and small blemishes, but I got quite a low mileage car, and just recently discovered that at SOME point my motor has been rebuilt. So the motor should have even less. Since I broke my rear, and my trans just went out, I'll have brand new rear and tranny coupled to a fairly fresh motor. With that being said, I really have no plans of ditching this car any time soon. If the motor DOES go out, I'll be pulling a Merv

I was thinking about this the other day, in '99 I went to a Mazda dealer with my dad, he was looking for cars for my sister. Any case there was a red 1997 Trans Am, t-tops, loaded, leather, they wanted $17K for it. When I paid $9K for my 93 in 00, that was a really good deal since the car was a Trans Am and only had 40K miles.
