That car has a ton of potential, I can imagine with a good converter in it, some gear and cutting 1.6-1.70s it would be a bottom 12 second car once you correct for sea level.

It will be a pretty awesome car once i get it all finished. I never see any 79 z28 camaro's anywhere so im glad i have it. But i may try the man juice part lol.

I could see a little less for the flowmaster but a stall won't really affect mph more than like 1 mph. Still a stall would probably give you a 12.7-12.8 in the same conditions which is very respectable. Those miles most likely won't effect the track times much either but if I had a cammed car still running 13's I would be a little frustrated. Good luck though and keep working at it.
with stock gearing? i know i need to go get a dyno run done soon so i can see what my A/F is like but for the time being im pretty happy with it, like i said at a lower DA level it would have been low low 13's high high 12's depending.

I think getting it on a dyno and getting things tuned real good would definately add to the performance. Heck, something may be off in the tune and you could pick up 2 mph your next time out. You never know. With a better sixty foot you could get a slightly higher trap as well. With a 1.8 sixty you would have a twelve second car I just thought something sounded a little off, even with a tiny cam. But with a few adjustments I think your car has alot more potential for sure. I have definately seen worse and if you did a stall, gears, and a cutout with a good tune you have low 12's in that car.

1st motor was hotcam kit, edlebrock shorty headers, stock stall, 3.23 and it ran 13.4@106 with 2.0 60ft. but I am a lot closer to sea level than you. with your alt I'd be happy with those numbers.

With the stock stall and only mods being full exhaust, 3.73's and a cc503 I was running 12.8's at 110mph with 2.0 60's. Before cam and gears I was doing 13.4's at 103 but I am not sure how much your DA that day effects things. Once you get a Stall you will be a very happy man.

i say good run!!! the LCA's and other suspension parts should help you get out of the hole quicker and cut down your times.

before my car was wrecked i ran 13.8 at 101 MPH and 2.0 60 ft at about 500 above sea level. i had mid lengths, full exhuast with no mufflers, LCA's, Panhard bar, intake, and a tune up! i had tranny issues that day too. i was on stock stall also, so i say you are running pretty damn good!

that makes me feel alot better, all yesterday night i was thinking what could be wrong with my car blah blah, but seeing as finally someone else with the same DA problem as me shows similiar times it makes me feel a little better.

i also think my transmission just needs a refresh, when it ***** it goes up to about 6250 and sits for a split second then it hits and changes gears. i wonder if thats the tranny or something to do with the tune.

and my tuner also reccomended going and doing a couple pulls on the dyno just to check my car out and i do plan on doing that.

thanks everyone and i cant wait to get everything all dialed in, like i said this was only my second time ever racing at the track.

that always happens on the 2>3 shift. i just posted about that in the transmission section. check out the post below it explains why that happens and another member tells a tip on how you can trick the pcm into shifting faster

From what I gather from the trans guys, there's more line pressure when the trans is in OD for the 2-3 shift. It seemed to work for my stock trans with a shift kit on the nitrous. Before it hesitated on the 2-3 shift when left in D for the whole run. Now after it shifts to second I shift from D to OD and the shift is firmer and put me in the high 10's from a previous best of 11.08.
