Just give it a single 600 shot right off the line. You will be fine...really. forging the motor is for pussies...take some risks...live a little

I have not successfully made a full pass with anything over a 250 hit yet. I have hit larger shots on the dyno but not at a track yet. 400 shot is the ultimate goal...........just have to work you way up to it.

Lots of great info. Thanks alot guys!!! LS1Tech ROCKS.

Impulse buys for the win right...?

I just picked up a Nitrous Oxide systems NOS-08101-NBNOS for $600. Maxes out at a 300 hp shot. Don't know yet if my injectors will plug in correctly but a $1400 kit in mint condition for $600 was too hard to pass up. Noids sound strong and seal perfectly. If the injectors don't fit I'll sell it off to a mustang guy for a bit more. Win/win right...

I had to lower my goals after everyone's great info and parts pricing. A 300 progressively controlled shot should do fine. Thanks again for the great info.

Anyone running a FJO-Digital Progressive Controller??? Pros/Cons???

^ If that's the NOSZLE setup or what ever they call it where the injector sits in the nozzle your statement is more aptly, "Impulse buys for the lose..."

They have a habit of being very difficult to tune. They pull a vacuum on the injectors causing extremely rich conditions.

You are saying the nitrous discharge pulls vacuum on the injectors beyond plenum vacuum?

I had not thought about that possibility but now that you say it, it makes perfect sense. Heck most painting equipment works by discharging pressurized air around a liquid port at a LOT lower pressures than a nitrous system.

Yup they do and as mentioned are VERY hard to tune as they are not consistant in many application. I would not take them over a 150 shot.

We ahd one car we wnet as far as removing the N2O jets and it would not go over 200 or so RWHP

If I was him I'd still use the system, but replace the injector style nozzles with a traditional style nozzle.

THe problem also becomes more severe as the shot size increases and the larger the injector they are placed under.

I had always thought the NOSzle idea looked like a dumb setup... I just didn't know why.... now I do....

my immediate thoughts have been confirmed....

If you want big power go turbo. I think its cheaper and more effective in the long run. I'm going to run nitrous in the ls1 when I put it in to my impala but later ill be putting a turbo or two.

I'm not running a carb... I'm running an accufab throttle body on top of a victor E intake with fuel rails and injectors..... I have a single plane conversion manifold... here's a pic of my motor before the plate went on it (you can see a plate in the pictures but that was only for mockup so the intake pipe would be right level when plate was on)...

yes.... optispark was removed, timing cover welded up with a aluminum insert... car runs an accel crank trigger with a MSD crab cap distributor... works great with the FAST XFI setup..... using the FAST and a crank trigger it's almost made for each other.... great ignition resolution and adjustable timing + or - 40 degrees....

Any one running a shot that big on an lt1?
if you are looking for that much of a power increase why dont you just boost the motor. im sure that a gt42r will get you there
