what does it take to go to a monoblade TB?
as the title suggests, what does it take to convert the standard TB into a monoblade TB? is it worth it, or should i just go with a 58mm?
note... i have autotap and tuner cats on the way so i will be able to tune for it.

id actually reccomend headers first ul get a ton more power from them then u would a tb because u can only flow so much with the stock heads and all and with the 58mm the tb ports still need some porting out to match a 58mm although it does not need to be done its pointless to hav a 58mm tb if the tb pots r only 52mm
i gained maybe half a tenth wit the 58mm tb where as headers and exhaust gained me lik .6

Stock is good for around ~425HP. You be better off saving some money and getting a 54mm and then not worry about modding the intake for it. Put the $100+ saved by getting a 54 instead of a 58 (way more than $100 if you got a Mono) towards headers. The most inexpensive quality LT (Pacesetter) I think are only like $250-$275. Which is STILL cheaper than the 58mm new! It's getting into powder coating/ceramic/stainless that drive up the cost into the $400+ range.
You really really don't need a TB right now, and headers would be more worth the money over NOS.

Damn some guys in this thread text WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too much.
Anyway, no you dont need a monoblade until you get close to 600hp normally aspirated.
I think a 52mm TB is as big as you can go with no intake mods....do they even make a 54 mm?
Do the free mods
CAI
headers and y pipe
Catback
pullies
roller rockers
Converter
tune
This will wake it up.

Yes the stock manifold is already ported to handle a 52mm tb. Yes they make a 54 mm tb. It's an azspeed and marine. A stock throttle body can support around 400hp, and 475ish with a 52mm tb. A 58mm tb is more than enough for like 99.9% of cars. You do need to cut the manifold to make the monoblade work. The cutting and what not can be done with the manifold on the car but it much easier with it off.
