Just got off the phone with 1and1. No go on upping the SQL database size due to the share hosting plan we're on. We'll have to move to a server at this point it looks like, or find another host with more space for a DB. I've PM'd Phantom who says he's going to be hitting this tomorrow, and he and I should be in contact with each other about either a upgrade to a server package or a move to a different hose. We're hoping to have everything back up and running on Friday.

If we have to move to a server, it's going to be MUCH more costly. Something we're having to factor in at this point.

I hear ya, Sean. Unfortunately, I've been there and am all too familiar with this issue. Started my site on a $14/mo plan and now it's at $140/mo in just 3 years - as much as it's nice to have more members and more posts than a couple years ago, dang it gets expensive! Can't even fathom how much LS1Tech or CamaroZ28 costs per month.

Keep in touch, if 1and1 has a dedicated plan or something that will up your SQL database limit, 1and1 should be able to copy everything and it'll be much faster to get back up and running. If you have to start a new server somewhere else, you're looking at a few days. Usually takes 6-12 hours for the dedicated server to be available, then you gotta download all the files from 1and1 and upload them to the new server. Create the database and permissions, update your configuration file to the correct database info, download the mySQL database from 1and1 and then upload it to the new server. Last, but certainly not least, changing the DNS over to the new server.

1 and 1 offers an unlimited database memory plan for 80 bucks a month. I'm still going to look elsewhere. Though that 80 bucks is looking pretty nice right now.

Also, so you ALL know, this is going to cut into our funding for the sponsorship for the LTX shootout.

This is obviously an unscheduled and unplanned for experience. It just sucks.

I just want to thank you, along with Fast Bird and SoulReaver for waiting this out. You guys are truly the most bad *** community ever. I truly thank you guys!

I also want to mention, it should be good by Friday evening, but please, remember it may be a few days longer if we switch hosts.

Thanks again guys!!

Forgot to mention - I had very good experiences with iweb8.com with decent prices for a dedicated server. Only reason why I switched off of iweb8 is I found a beefier server for a slightly more expensive price but it was too good to resist.

Big deal. We will all understand. You guys will still hit the $1500 dollar goal, no problem. When did you need the money by?

No problem, we understand. You guys need a lot more of these--------------------------------->
to help pay for the hosting. I am sure LS1tech is a HUGE money making machine. Turn LTxtech into that as well. Go sponsor hunting!

SoulReaver went ahead and updated the splash page for you guys. We went ahead and set the re-opening for Monday as a worst case scenario. Everything should still be on target for tomorrow.

As for the shootout funds, I'm going to say this: The bar at the top of the LTxTech forum was horribly skewed because EVERY penny coming in was being shown, but it wasn't accounting for startup or operating expenses, paypal fees, ect. We're actually at about $800 right now so we shouldn't get dented too fast, and once we're back up and stable we're going to start with the paid sponsorships and that should put us up to where we need to be rather quickly.

More to come.
