I am also just finishing with my motor build this week and getting back on the road. I would be happy to drive up to NicD's and see what he thinks tuning it. I think that would be one hell of a source of tuning information for you. (He is only an hour and a half away from me anyway and I was going to go see him to have the LT1 ECU Tune checked, I would rather just do this)
Just let me know if you want to take me up on my offer, I am in either way.

I have a .dxf of a wheel to use for aftermarket computers to get the signals. I have intended to do this to make my FAST run sequential with the Opti in place. It would save a butt load being that I would not need to purchase a crank trigger and cam sync.
PM sent concerning getting my .dxf cut out.
I can test it almost immediately as well. It would not be the same as testing your setup with the LS pcm, but it could be proof that it works in a running, driving car.

So if I'm understanding this right, any optispark will work... Vented and non-vented?
And any 93-97 f-body is capable of doing this setup?
No requirement for a certain timing cover or other specific part?

no dxf's will be provided.
i may be able to design a opti that ouputs the signal your looking for, you would have to know what pattern is needed thou.

Automatics
i have been looking into automatics and the ls1 pcm. it appears that the ls1 pcm will control a 96+ tranny as is, but there may be some issues with the 95 and older trannys. i have pm'd two of the best tranny vendors on the message board to see if they can help me out whit what would be needed to control these older tranies.

You are correct the 96 up should be no issue, The 93 (truck) 94-95 are a little different ,
the 93 and 94 do not have the PWM solenoid, And has a different 3-2 regulator strategy , However I have in the past done this swap without any decernable issue simply by installing the later harness and adding the PWM solenoid as a dummy and swapping the 3-2 solenoid from the later set up . Some will say there might be down shift issues on the 3-2 but I did not experience this or notice any issue at all.
Another option would be to use the entire valve body assembly from a 96 up trans.
As for the 95 it does have PWM but still has the different 3=2 strategy again swapping the harness and the 3-2 solenoid seems to cause no issue I could detect and caused no problems either short or long term when I have done it and its been years and the cars this was done with have never experienced any issue.

yes sorry i misunderstood pucks question. eariler in the thread i had asked for a early opti so that i could verify that the 93-94 opti would work with the disk i designed for the 95+ model. basically i was / am looking for a old or good one that i could keep. and wouldnt have to worry about shipping back. i would of course pay shipping here.
i wouldnt be offering a exchange service, i would be modifing your opti. you would recive your opti back, i may keep a coulple here for the odd case were you were in a rush and couldn't wait for shipping.

If it works, I will be going with your conversion and saving the $1.5K that I was going to spend on a Megasquirt II setup.
