I too welded mine due to putting the motor back in and LT's and everything on during a weekend. I was able to pull the transmission without disconnecting the exhaust though. I just bought a universal x-pipe kit from jegs and two 3" connectors and some hangers. Worked good for me.

its just a pain in the *** to do anything if you have to take the heads off..

I use stepped band clamps for 3". They came with the TSP x-pipe setup.

Glad I am not the only one who did it. I thought about welding flanges on, I think I can manage, although as you said it will be interesting.

yeah i was also thinking of fabbing the flanges on but...i think ill just see how the clamp works first and go from there.

What do you do when you go from a 3 inch collector to a 2.5 inch pipe???

Pipe bender, or you can "wedge" it in there if your heart desires.

take it to someone and have them blow up the 2.5 side enough for it to slide snug in your 3 inch side...

oh and to OP def just use a reg set of band clamps... easiest and work the best...
