Default Talk me into a cam

I'm as of now, planning on a nitrous setup coming here in a month or so. I want to do 100-150 shot.

I want to do nitrous because I want a really good bolt on time, but I am impatient too. So with nitrous I can still run bolt on only and eventually get a cam after I've gone bolt on only. I also like that it won't be on in the street so I can still go WOT without major speeding. (the same reason why I'll eventually go turbo for EASY boost control)

but, I'm thinking today that a cam sounds pretty good too, but not as good.

So your goal is to talk me out of the nitrous and into a cam. And money isn't an issue.

nitrous is there only when you want it obviously. Cam is always there. Cam will cost you probably ~1200 when all is said and done, nitrous is around 600-700 if doing it yourself (why wouldnt you.) so - your call really. depends how you plan to use the car.

Cost is comparable. I will use used parts on a cam install.

if the cost is equal in your case, i'd probably go cam. I mean - it's always there, you dont have to worry about filling up a bottle, and what not. have you factored a tune in to your cam cost equation?

I specifically said cost is not an issue in the first post. $50 retune anyway.

I guess it's easy to say money's not an issue when mommy and daddy are buying it for you, lol unless your working wallstreet and giving your self a bonus when ever you feel the need too!!!

just for ease of instal i chose N2O
back when i had a cai and custom y ,no cats and a 2ch 3"in/out flowmaster i was running 13.9-14.1 on 18"F1s on a NX 150 shot i was runnin 12.6 and 12.2 w/DRs....many eyebrows went up! BTW i am in the desert and the DA generally SUCKSdrawback is 40 bucks a bottle and i was gettin roughly 6 good passes per bottle.cam will always be there and be a one time fee...........

now that that is off my chest....
a cam will move you up into a nicer power range

get a nice cam like the lpe211/219, cc503, cc227/233, 230/236, LE spec or the AI spec cams really cant go wrong on any of these

Everything I have I paid for.

I work 2 full time jobs and 6 days a week. My primary job pays all the bills and more and my second job pays for fun. Plus a tax return is always nice.

This week it's nitrous time. Last week was a mig welder/treadmill, the week before was a PS3, the week before was LPPs, before that was X-mas, before that was tools/header prep, and so on.

Next month will possibly be heads/cam... maybe a spare Lt1 and some forged internals...

It's amazing what you can do with no significant other you are used to supporting.

Maybe I'll be responsible and put it all to good use instead. Dunno.

None of you are talking me into a cam by the way.

6-700 depending on what kit you go with. The best of the best (nitrous outlets wet plate kit with all the safety features and bells/whistles) is closer to a grand.
If your gonna do nitrous, do it right from the get go.

Honestly, I think you should look into a nice custom grind cam. I think you would be more happy with the overall set up.

I say go with the cam and don't look back. With all the shelf and custom grinds out there you can go from mild to wild. Plus, nothing beats that sound!
