While this is true, most wear is because of poor valvetrain geometry from side-loading onto the pushrod from the rocker tip.

Still good advice though. TFS also makes a good plate, part number 30400623-8.

so if i use the guideplates then what pushrods will i need. i dont want anything to outrageous. just something strong and reliable. im not even sure how long of pushrods ill need

I always say go chromemoly, but some Comp hardened pr's should be fine. Always measure for the proper length.

majority of 1.6 installs will result in stock length pushrods being used, even the majority of aftermarket cams will give the same result however as stated checking the length with this http://www.jegs.com/p/Comp+Cams/753211/10002/-1 will help......

ok, thanks. now do u think the stock length rods will work if i go to 1.65 harland sharp rockers? and is stock length 7.200?

i don't see any reason these would not work for you,the 125lb seat pressure is good,the diameter makes this set a direct bolt on. i like them better than the Lt4 springs due to the seat pressure.

I put 1.6 comp pro magnums on my stock spring and float the valves around 6000 rpm's I'm almost positive thats what is happening because after the install it falls on its face hard core like a miss around 6000. my car has 111,000 miles I have some 918's waiting to go on.
