well to be quite honest straight pipes sound terrible and placing any kind of muffler on there would be just as bad sounding.

H- pipes are basically used to balance your exhaust flow with a slight difference in sound.you will find these on fords from the factory which was done to help the absolutely poor exhaust flow that fords have.

X- pipe not only does this take the sound to a different level but it has a function, this set up acts like a vacuum as one cyl fires the next cyl actually gets pulled from the port hence the reason for performance gains over the H design. take a look at Bassini,Dr.Gass etc. and read about exhaust technology

I've been told anywhere from $300-600, just depending on size and mufflers you go with.

there have been a few people that used the TSP dual kit and modded it a bit for an LtX car,you may look into that option.

There is a guy on another site selling a 2.5in universal x-pipe kit for 75.00. Will this work? I can get the bullets for next to nothing, and I have a buddy that owns a exhaust shop in joliet that would charge me next to nothing to install it all.

In theory there is no difference in power gain between 2.5 and 3 inch tubing. For that reason i bought a 2.5 inch true dual system and for the ground clearance. It sounds good but i scrap the **** out of it. I really wish i bought the 3 inch because its larger and looks way better than the 2.5.

you wont gain any power, but it cant support more....

meaning if you make 300 rwhp it doesnt matter if you have 2.5 or 3.....

if you make 800rwhp you will benefit from the 3 inch more than the 2.5 inch..

Anyone ever take a y pipe and just dump a bullet right under the passenger seat? I also have Lt's and want it to sound loud, but I have straight duels and the drivers side is touching the fuel line. That worries me.

600 is a rip off if your getting them dumped. I thought it would be like 150 at the most.

150 is cheap cheap.

it would be ghetto as hell.. but if i was going to do it no way i would use a bullet, you would be taking an exhaust that sounds like total **** and making is sound like ****..

go buy a knock off 1 chamber FM for 35 bucks and have someone weld it up for you for ike 15 dollars.. will sound 10 times better.. still ghetto as hell, but will sound better... and yes it will be just as loud as a bullet.. just better sound

I found just the x for 40,supports 2.5 and 3,made by flowtech. Im sure my guy can bend and weld the rest up. I also own a 72 challenger,on which I have full 3 from the header collector to the dynomax bullets. It sounds awesome, but that was done for performance. Never dealt with a x before.

well actually if you want more performance you should go with an xpipe over straight pipes as said...

as far as welding something up.. if your exhaust guy is any good for under 200 bucks he should be able to weld or clamp a custom xpipe from the collector to the mufflers before the axle in about 30 minutes or so..

Yeah I got a killer deal. Larry had a set up laying around. He had to mod it alot to fit but looks great. They even painted it all up. I paid less than 350 for everything!

I run Pacesetter LT's to Dynomax bullets....no real hp gain but the sound is amazing. I run with them dumped right under the seats, not really fun clearance wise but if the car doesnt see a whole lot of road time youd be fine. Did mine myself, probably switching to something else to see more gains though since the car is being built to run not just sound good.
