Speed Inc cadillac cam .....
#23
a few yrs back a guy I know ran this cam and made about 330RWHP through a 2800 stalled auto with mid length headers & Bolt-ons. His best time at the track was 13.0 with 18'' z06 wheels & a Slammed suspension setup. I will see if he still has his old dyno graph.
Car definitely idled like stock, no lope and the drive ability was like stock as well.

So this cam is mainly just for sleeper cars? I have a completely stock 95 Z (engine wise except for CAI) and was going to do headers w/ egr and air delete, duals, and a hotcam or better. Would this cam and just keeping my stock manifolds be the better way to go or just go all out?

Ok Larry I'm here to help ya out bro I had the cad cam in my 95 Z (Thats mine Smoke was talking about), I had the SLPcai, 2800 stall (otherwise stock trans), heads were milled a bit when we had them off for a blown head gasket, 1.6 RR's, shorty headers, a magnaflow catback with a randomtech highflow cat and of course the cam. I made 325rwhp and 336rwtq. It was not setup for the drag strip but still ran a 13.1 @ 105, like was said on 18" street tires which got me crappy 60fts. The graph is from the before and after of the cam, all that was added from before and after is the cam and RR's. BTW this is also on a fairly worn out 100k mile motor, she hadnt been well taken care of before I got it. It idled dam near like stock, I wish I had vids. Most people that didnt know it was cammed would think it was nothing more than a stock LT1 with a cat back on it. Hope that all helps.

haha Shdy, is that really your license plate?
This cam actually has me excited, even if I don't have the cash to upgrade, the fact that it's results are so good even w/o a tune is awesome. @ $300 it's (assuming 60hp gain to be fair) it's $5/hp!! It pretty much takes NOS to match that

Is there any reason this cam wouldn't be a good choice with stock heads and long tube headers? If I ever did a cam swap, I would want something that drives like a daily driver.

There would be much better choices for a car with LT's and a CAI. Tuning is the biggest factor when it comes to streetabilty with most cams. I DD my CC503 and it drive just like stock to me, but is pulls MUCH harder and sounds a hell of a lot better.
