Oh no, now we are never going to hear the end of the LT1/LS1 debate...

What can I say, older technology < newer technology....but I love my LT1.

EDIT: Oh, you meant LT4 conversion kit, not the LT4 hot cam kit. Well the LT4 conversion kit is a waste of money!
sorry should of put heads, intake and cam in there. i just don't see the reason to do all the work of putting in the cam with using the stock heads and intake. i would also change the pushrods and a couple other things. you get what you pay and work for!

^^^LOL. Go through all of the work involved to swap cylinder heads, just to bolt on a slightly better flowing stock casting...

Spend your money here:

http://www.advancedinduction.com/AiProductsLT1.html

Just under $2k, and you'll have 400+ rwhp.

Its an ok bumpstick. There are alot more choices out there now. I have one and its 'ok' for what it is. My best so far has been 12.38 at 115mph with cam/headers/gears/mail order tune. Best 1/8th so far has been 7.87 at 90mph.

If you're on a really tight budget go for it. If you have a bit more to spend maybe consider a little bigger cam.

I'm a big fan of the hotcam. If I was going to go for all out cam only or heads/cam power then I would look elsewhere, but for a great driver that has a great chance of passing emissions and will be compatible with a blower or nitrous if you ever go that route, it's a very good cam. Hell, my buddy had a hotcam in his 383 and he went 12.08 @ 113 mph at Lebanon (not the best track) in a 3800 lbs car with a 2000 stall converter and 3.42 gears.

Imagine what he would run if he had a real cam in his 383...

Not trying to be a dick, but with all those mods you should be in the mid to low 12s, something ain't right? U didn't post a 60ft and if you was spinning your mph would be higher.

I ran the Hotcam back in the day with stock stall, stock tune, stock gears, but the rest of the bolt-ons and got a best of 13.23@106 with a 2.0 60ft. If I had put a stall and tune on her she would've hit mid 12s. But she spun the ole bearing before I could do anymore mods.

Right now with a stock motor, stock airbox, longtubes, stall, tune, and gears I hit high 12s and there's plenty of other guys who do a lot better than that with the same mods. Just my 2 cents.

I think he should be in the mid to high 12's (which he is), not low 12's.

that trap is closer to a bolt-on lt1

the problem could lie within supporting mods, tune or lack-there-of, or track elevation

109-111mph trap is more on par for a cc305 car with supporting mods

well cc305 isn't much better imo

as far as stock heads go I'd say something like the cc503 or custom AI cam to benefit the most from a cam swap

I just figured he should be faster but a lot of variables do come into play, he could have a bad DA the day he ran his #s.
